Your support is appreciated! And of course I will be serving up a yummy selection of cakes and bakes - including plenty of free-from treats - and endless tea and coffee. Looking forward to eating cake for a good cause!

Nearly 40 appreciative guests enjoyed a buffet of meats, salads and deserts for their Summer Social.

Tandoori chicken skewers
Wafer thin cooked ham
Honey and mustard sticky sausages
Smoked salmon terrine
Yellow rice salad with dried fruit and herbs
Roast vegetable and parmesan pasta salad
Brocoll, apple and cashew salad

Pre-show dinner delivery at the Brickyard πŸš—

The giant tomatoes saved the day again, and we delivered a piping hot meal for 9 people, sneaking in through the main doors of the venue past fans who still had a two hour wait to get in πŸ˜‰. Love those tomatoes! Though we did raise a chuckle or two from some pedestrians πŸ€£πŸ…
And it was such a gorgeous evening that we decided to use the rest of our hour's parking to stroll to Costa for a cheeky treat πŸ˜‹

On the menu:
Handmade individual steak and vegetable pies/ vegan mushroom and lentil pies; paprika roasted baby potatoes and cauliflower; spinach, rocket, green bean, courgette and moonblush tomato salad with a tahini lemon dressing.

Show day 🚜 🍰

One of my favourite events every year is our local agricultural show. Our extended family really throw themselves into the baking and crafts sections! I had a week off before the show this year, so I went all out! Here's a little selection of my prizewinning entries! 🀩

Wedding Feast! ❀️
I had the absolute joy of cooking for a wedding at Lanercost Priory yesterday, with the reception held in the adjoining Dacre Hall. The weather was glorious, the location was beautiful, and the bride and groom were so sweet that it brought a tear to my eye! All in all a wonderful occasion!

On the menu:

Starters: a selection of canape style skewers served on a heart shaped palm leaf plate, accompanied by freshly baked mini bread rolls.

Main course: a choice of Beef Stroganoff with creamy mash, Morroccan chicken casserole with herbed couscous, or Vegetarian Moussaka - all served with a selection of fresh and roasted veg

Desert: the main event was the wedding cake, made by the bride's grandma, accompanied by some free from treats and a large fruit platter, macerated strawberries and lashings of double cream!
