Our Bright Stars had a big day today as they prepared for their first day of selling their Mr Bubble slime, which they had received pre-orders for during the week. 🌟

Following a half term refresh, the entrepreneurs were on form updating their project books, decorating their selling stall and of course...making their slime! Thank you to our KTL Tommy for lending a helping hand making slime splat biscuits to sell too - an exciting, profitable and slightly messy time had by everyone! 😁🫧

🌟 BRIGHT STARS WEEK 5 UPDATE 🌟

We have plenty of exciting Bright Stars developments to share and the Year 3's behind the Mr Bubble Slime empire are learning so many new skills each week (see below!)

Having spoken to their peers in assembly about their business, the pupils set about organising a script and storyboard for an advert which they shot on Thursday. This will be sent to parents and posted on the School's page to promote their slime!

The other half of the year group finalised their shop decorations, making sure they have a large sign, notices and decorations so customers can spot them at the school gate after half term.

They also made their first batch of trial slime to make sure they get the method spot on and organised their tubs ready for packaging whilst also totting up their spends for their profit and loss sheet - PHEW! 🤩👏📢

Our Bright Stars 2025 journey has started and we are thrilled to be collaborating with the wonderful Year 3's at Ewanrigg Junior School Official page

Together, we are in the process of building a sublime Slime mini-business, which the pupils have named 'Mr Bubble' and they will be making and selling their limited edition slime in the last 3 weeks of the competition.

As we know, there is a lot of work to do in preparation and we have been busy getting creative with a company logo and creating promotional posters to advertise the slime as well as learning all about Marketing and how to promote to our target audiences.

We will keep you updated on our progress but here is a small glimpse of their hard work so far...

🫑🥕🍠 ‘I’m a Celebrity' Veggie Challenge! 🥬🥦🫑

A huge thank you to the intrepid pupils at Ewanrigg Junior School in Maryport who took part in our veggie challenge yesterday.

Kerry Weir, our Area Operations Manager hosted a discussion about fruit and vegetables and the importance of opting for vegetables at lunch time. Pupils also took a veg quiz, to test how much they know about vegetables and which they could identify from appearance. 👀

Then came the Taste Challenges, where pupils were blindfolded and had to record what their senses were telling them about each vegetable and if they would eat it again. 👅

It was a brilliant interactive session and most importantly, a lot fun! 😄

♻️ Prepare for Simpler Recycling ♻️

If you are a customer of ours, you will have received notice from us regarding the new Simpler Recycling measures.

All schools and businesses (employing 10 people+) in England must comply with the new regulations from 31st March when the way food waste is collected will change. Food waste can no longer be placed in general/non-recyclable waste bins or mixed with other recyclable materials and must be put into a specific food waste container for collection.

The new default requirement for most households and workplaces will be 4 containers for:

• residual (non-recyclable) waste
• food waste (mixed with garden waste if appropriate) 🍅🥦🍠
• paper and card 📦🗞
• all other dry recyclable materials (plastic, metal and glass) 🧴🥫🧃
