Hi guys,It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Scotby School.
We had a visit from Environmental Health back in September.. all went well and we maintained our 5***** star rating.
Year 5 made bread last week and must admit they all done amazing and so excited when all I done was bake them .. the smell from the bread when baking in the oven was not good lol😋I was tempted to get the Lurpak out the fridge and close the hatch/shutters and do a taste test with Denise 😂.
Blueberry cup cakes.
Ginger cookies.
Oaty cookies.
Banana bread.
Fruit crumble.
Sponges.
Fresh fruit all going well at lunch time .👍🍉🍌🍈🍇🍪🍰🍓🍎🍊

Hi guys, we have been busy at Scotby school kitchen offering healthy options just for the pupils to try and have say the veg sticks , fresh fruit and reduced sugar Oaty cookies , Fruity flapjack , Ginger cookies , Apple crumble all seem popular .. all homemade..small steps towards the very Big changes the government are wanting school caterers to do.
Me personally think it’s going to be very difficult and challenging for all who work in school kitchens.
The menus we provide at Scotby at the moment are very popular and since being Catering manager for over 3 years the numbers having school dinners have been high.
Small steps but have to Thank the pupils and also our amazing Head at Scotby for working with me on what will be a challenging year .

Hi guys, late post .. just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the pupils and parents for the lovely words , cards, gifts and voucher .. they are very much appreciated and a little overwhelmed with the kindness.
Been a quick year at Scotby School .. nearly 3 years how time flies.
Time to turn off now and chill.

Hi guys, what a week at Scotby school😅.. I actually thought the temperature probe was broke /stuck on at one point on a certain temperature 🥵Denise and myself got through it (just) .. to top yesterday off we had 33 year 6s leaver meals to cater for .. they chose Chicken Korma , Chicken pie and pizza… followed by Biscoff cheesecake and Old school cake .. Mocktail went down a treat too .. very happy year 6s and all very complimentary and appreciated the meal .

Hi guys, it’s been a while since i last sent a post .. been a lot happening in /out of work .. family always comes first.
We have a new family member Buddy .. a new pal for our Charlie 🐶🦮🤎
Busy few week in Scotby School kitchen lots of happy kids all very complimentary and polite .Heads meetings now a regular thing at Scotby lol 😂 I wonder why 😊🥪🍓🍉🍱
I’ve had a few people asking about Sunday lunches .. having a nice chilled weeks holiday this next week ..then I will look at dates for Sunday lunches .

Hi guys, just a few pics from Scotby School kitchen.
Brown rice went down a treat today all happy to sample /taste it and great feedback.
Even the flapjack with no chocolate went down well 👍.
Small healthy changes lots of pupils asking for veg sticks , salad and more fruit .. working on the vegetable like lol 😂.. done savoy cabbage a couple of times and a couple of pupils said I don’t like hot lettuce 🥬 😂.
