Our 94 spacious bedrooms and fully equipped Conference and Banqueting facilities, with an ideal central location, make the Crown and Mitre a perfect choice for business or pleasure. Our other facilities include a swimming pool and Jacuzzi and an onsite secure car park to the rear of the hotel, both of which are free to use for all guests of the hotel. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the

entire Hotel and we also offer two hard wired data points in the lobby to keep you well connected during your stay.

Could you be the newest member of our kitchen team? 👨‍🍳

Our kitchen is kept busy with hotel breakfasts, restaurant service, afternoon teas and events, and we’re looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the team behind it all…

You’ll be right at the heart of our busy kitchen, supporting our chefs during service and lending a hand wherever you’re needed.

The role will include:

▪️ Keeping equipment, utensils and workspaces clean and organised
▪️ Supporting our chefs and colleagues during busy services
▪️ Helping with deliveries and storing supplies safely
▪️ Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety
▪️ Helping with basic food preparation once trained

Previous kitchen experience isn’t important to us. We’re much more interested in finding somebody who’s reliable, happy working as part of a team and willing to learn with us.

Bring the right attitude and a willingness to get stuck in, and we’ll give you all the training and support you need.

We swapped wedding tables for exhibition stands in the ballroom last week as The UK Careers Fair returned to Carlisle!

The event brought local and national employers together with people looking for their next opportunity, and it was lovely to see so many conversations taking place throughout the day.

With plenty of room for stands and visitors to move around comfortably, it showed just how well the ballroom works for big events like this one…

Our main lobby area always has a lovely buzz about it (and it’s one of the comfiest places to relax!).

Visitors love to sit here for a cuppa, people watch over a pint, enjoy an afternoon tea with friends or even just wait patiently for the guest who said they’d be down 15 minutes ago 😂

You may know us best for weddings and big celebrations in our ballroom, but we also host smaller occasions including baby and bridal showers 🤍

We have a choice of function rooms available for these special events, including our stunning Edwardian Room which is perfect if you’d like somewhere with extra character and charm…

Our shower packages include free room hire, a finger buffet and a drink for each guest, with mocktails available for baby showers 🥂

We’ve been busy bringing together a brilliant group of local suppliers for our event on the 25th October, but there are still a few spaces we’d like to fill…

We’d particularly love to hear from:

One of the best things about getting married here is that your day can be big, intimate or somewhere in between…

Some couples spend their full wedding day with us, others join us for the evening celebrations, and we’ve also hosted smaller gatherings in our stunning Edwardian Room.

Our wedding packages are a great place to start, but they’re certainly not your only option!

We know it’s only August, but when we have less than 20 places left for Christmas Day lunch, we didn’t want anyone planning to join us to miss out!

You can also visit us throughout November and December for festive lunch, an evening meal or we have private dining spaces available for larger Christmas get togethers.

And as always, we have our Christmas party nights if you want to make a proper night of it 💃
