Cafe and Gardens Update

After a great deal of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the Coach House Café and the gardens at the end of this month. This wasn’t a decision made overnight. It’s one we’ve wrestled with for a while. When we first opened the café, it was a way to welcome people into Kirklinton Hall & Gardens and share a place that means so much to us. We’ve loved seeing familiar faces return, watching friendships form over coffee and cake, and introducing so many people to Kirklinton for the very first time. Over time, however, we’ve realised just how difficult it is to balance welcoming the public into Kirklinton hall while also, restoring the Hall and gardens, running private events and holiday accommodation, and raising a family. We have always tried our best to accommodate everyone, but we’ve reached a point where we know we can’t be everything to everyone, and it’s time to focus on what Kirklinton is becoming. As Kirklinton continues to evolve, we’ll be concentrating on private events, holiday accommodation and the ongoing restoration of the Hall and gardens. This is where our passion lies, and where we believe we can create something truly special. This isn’t goodbye to Kirklinton. We’ll still be welcoming guests for weddings, private events and stays in our cottages, and we will open the gardens and café on selected weekends and special occasions throughout the year. To everyone who has visited, supported us, recommended us or simply stopped by for coffee and cake, thank you. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know, and we’ll always be grateful for the part you’ve played in Kirklinton’s story. We hope you’ll continue to follow our journey as Kirklinton enters its next chapter.

Due to the Extreme heat tomorrow (Thursday 25th June) we have made the decision to close the cafe for the day. As we don’t have air conditioning in the cafe itself we need to think of the wellbeing of our customers and our team.
