Spent the evening freelancing at creating a beautiful farewell arrangement.

Once we were finished, we got distracted creating shadows with the flowers that had naturally started to dry since the last students visited the studio at ❤️

✨HALF TERM ACTIVITIES✨

Our next door neighbour is running workshops for kids. Affordable but fun, stone painting and needle felting will keep the kids entertained.

Grab a coffee nextdoor and browse the deli, or mooch around the gift shop whilst the kids enjoy some relaxing crafting ❤️

✨VASE LIFE✨

I’ve heard a lot of people say over the past couple of weeks ‘peonies don’t last long’ so I did an experiment.

Peony season doesn’t last long but I think as a cut flower it has a decent vase life.

Top tips…always put your flowers in a clean vase, not a dusty unwashed vase from off the shelf. If your vase is dirty, the water will be dirty and your flowers will go over quicker.

Cut stems at a 45 degree angle and fill the vase so the stems are covered at the bottom. No need to fill the vase to the top, you will just end up with slimey stems!

Change the water frequently, especially when it’s hot like this weekend. And don’t place your vase in a sunny window as your flowers won’t last long.

I cut these peonies last Friday morning .secret.farm and left them to condition overnight before arranging them in a vase. I’ve changed the water but didn’t bother recutting the stems. I reckon I will get at least another day or two out of them.

Interesting fact, the last peony (Coral Charm) in the video started life as pink and slowly changes colour to a gorgeous buttery yellow.

You can buy single stems or a bunch, whatever takes your fancy. Buy them as a gift or treat yourself!

We will be outside on the patio from 5pm, come and see us - why not make an evening of it, book a table and enjoy something to eat from their glorious new menu at the same time ❤️

Our USP - we only use British grown flowers and foliage. No imported stems here covered in who knows what chemicals, with no idea of when the stems were actually cut.

We are so lucky in that we have lots of local growers on our doorstep, and as the season really kicks in we will be spoilt for choice. Flowers literally cut hours before they arrive in our shop, to then condition and arrange for you. It is so important to us that we can tell you where your flowers came from, when they were cut, who cut them and how long a vase life you will get from them.

Wedding flowers, gift bouquets, corporate flowers, funeral flowers, the list goes on. All bespoke and created just for you.

We have a meeting with our peony grower tomorrow. It may just be that we have some in the shop on Saturday if they are ready…watch this space!

The drive to was a delight, the scent of the first lilac and stocks of the season filling the car. Teamed with dreamy ranunculus and scented freesia, this created the fluffy, blousey look requested by our lovely couple.
