Tidy little wedding fact for you: with a celebrant ceremony, your venue doesn’t have to be a licensed, council “approved venue” 👀

All being a licensed venue means is that it’s authorised for use by Registrars to do the legal bit. Obviously you can also have your ceremony in a licensed space too - but typically it will be the rooms not the whole venue that is licensed - so you have more options than you think there too! 💅

ps. Please reassure me my Friends reference is not lost on you! 😂 Millennials, sigh….

I posted recently about the privilege of delivering my first Celebration of Life ceremony for a fabulous person ❤️

I’ve now received these gorgeous words from her daughter which mean so much and she was happy for me to share 🤍

I am so thankful to have been able to support the family in celebrating her life - words in full below 💜

“Just wow!

The most perfect person to bring joy, laughter and celebrate the life of my mum.

Unfortunately but very fortunate, I found Elin, looking for a celebrant to share my mum’s life.

Elin is one in a million with the most unique personality that makes you feel like she’s listening and taking in every word.

She not only spoke to myself she contacted numerous family, friends and previous work colleagues gathering information taking the stress from myself at an awful time.

She is just a “vibe” and what she delivered was not only informative but grabbed a true perspective on who my mum really was, with integrity, enthusiasm and laughter!

I never doubted Elin’s ability even though she did inform me that this would be her first Celebration of Life as she normally does weddings! She smashed it and honestly her ability to connect with people is a true skill.

Matching Eurovision songs to wedding ceremony moments - because we’ve reached my peak specialist subject. I await the call from Mastermind 🧐😂

As a celebrant, I spend a lot of time thinking about the structure, pace, emotional flow of a ceremony and - well you might know that I am more than a little Eurovision obsessed. This marriage of content seems correct 😉

So - which moments did I miss?! I have a long list that didn’t make the cut 😂 - including Doomsday Blue and Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi which are just legendary.

Didn’t get a chance to post this earlier…
but this ceremony will stay with me for a long time 🤍

& how amazing to be trusted by a family with their final goodbyes to someone so loved ❤️

“Celebrations of Life” are ceremonies that are all about the person who’s left us - their loves, their quirks, the stories and memories that will still be told long after they’ve gone.

They can be joyful & colourful - and one of a kind. Just like this was - which was a tribute to a strong, caring, passionate woman… always in her Docs and Lucy & Yak dungarees - and always first on the karaoke 🎤 🙏
