Hi 👋🏻 I have a lot of new followers here recently and it’s been a while since I’ve told you a bit about me. I’m Kirsty. I’m 39, Mami to a beautiful little 8 year old who challenges me ( in the good and testing ways) daily, and fellow partner to my wonderful partner Alun. ♥️
I’ve been a Professional Make up Artist for almost 20 years. 16 of those have been spent working on weddings and I’ve now pretty much lost count of the number of beautiful weddings I’ve had a pleasure being part of, but I am somewhere over the 1200 mark. Alongside that I’ve worked as a make up artist for MAC, on set at a photography studio, freelanced for tv and commercial, worked on London Fashion Week and been published several times. More recently I spent some year lecturing make up for tv & film but the juggle became real! Somewhere along the way I’ve won a few awards but if you know me you know that they are in the far reaching corners of any room away from view until very recently when I was told that they need to be on view in my studio… thanks Al.
Before becoming a Make Up artist, I trained as a classical singer, and then graduated with the Fine Art Degree because essentially I felt pulled in both directions. Then I found make up … editorial make up to be precise and I never looked back. I like to think being a fine artist has allowed me to look at make up from another perspective and for me it’s a way of bringing my creative visions to life with each face I work on. I really am lucky I get to do that every day!
Some other random things about me …
I love to paint. I love a good coffee, wine or gin in equal measure! I adore sunsets and sunrises but I’m usually more awake to enjoy the former. You will always see a huge smile on my face at pretty flowers, particularly tulips, ranunculus and peonies. I’m also partial to an accent and a giggle until I snort 🙈
I’m a huge music lover … yes I trained to sing, but also learned to play flute, piano, clarinet and violin so it’s always been a huge part of my life. You could say I have an eclectic music taste… but that also depends on your own music preferences. So yeah..in a nutshell that’s me.
