🍂 POETRY IN THE AUTUMN GARDEN 🍂

We’re delighted to welcome award-winning poet and writer Maggie Harris to The Garden Gate Project this November for a very special afternoon of poetry, nature and creativity.

Maggie is the author of 13 books and an experienced creative writing tutor and workshop facilitator. Her poetry collection “I Sing to the Greenhearts” has won both the Jhalak Prize for Poetry and the Guyana Prize for Literature. Her wider accolades include the Commonwealth Short Story Prize (Caribbean Winner) and the Kent University TS Eliot Poetry Prize.


🌿 Saturday 21 November | 2–4.30pm | £25

Using the autumn garden as inspiration, Maggie will guide us to slow down, notice the changing season and find words for what we see, hear and experience around us.

We’ll wander through the garden, noticing fallen leaves, wildlife, plants and the subtle signs of the garden preparing for winter, before using these observations as inspiration for our own writing.

No previous poetry or writing experience is needed. Whether you’ve never written a poem before or are already an established writer, you’ll be very welcome.
