Canterbury Cathedral holds a fascinating collection of textiles. These include some fabric fragments and items of church dress dating from medieval times.

This day will provide a unique opportunity to find out from our experts more about the history of these items and how they are used and cared for.

Tea, coffee and pastries will be available upon arrival; with a two-course lunch in between; and tea, coffee and cake to finish the day - all included.

The Howley-Harrison Library was rebuilt over the Infirmary Cloister in 1665 and recently restored to its splendid 19th century décor.

It is the largest individual collection in the Library, made up of approximately 16,000 books and pamphlets!

Join a guided tour to learn more about the Library and explore some of the items close-up.

Join us for a fascinating afternoon, exploring the history of the Benedictine monastery at Canterbury Cathedral, and the life of the monks who lived and worked here over the centuries.

See some examples from the historic collections in the Cathedral Archives, followed by an informative talk from Cressida Williams, Cathedral Archivist, before taking a guided tour of the parts of the Cathedral grounds relating to monastic life.

The event concludes with an afternoon tea in the Refectory Restaurant at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, with the option to attend Evensong at 17:30.
