Revealing our top secret and very hidden location one road sign at a time

We love sharing the valley with our educational neighbours Chartham Holistic Kindergarten and lightroothub, but does require the senior leadership team to sporadically duck out of sight so their kids don’t spot them over the fence during break time. Gives the morning meetings a good sense of urgency.

Join us on Saturday 26th September for our FREE launch day:

✨ 2–4pm: Family Friendly Open Day
Come and explore the theatre, have a look around, raid the dress-up rail and enjoy a live kid-friendly set from the brilliant Rebecca Robinson. Sweet treats and refreshments will be available to buy too.

🥂 7–9pm: Grown-ups Evening
Come for drinks, pizza, live music from Rebecca Robinson, a proper welcome to the Aphra Behn - and perhaps a little bit of dancing.

Yes, there really is a 15x15m stage hiding down a country road in Chartham.

As well as plays, dance shows and music performances, from September we'll be open to hire for book tours, comedy, conferences, panel discussions and more.

Surprise! There's an independent theatre hidden in the Kent countryside.

We think there's probably a lot of people who live only a few miles away, and have absolutely no idea it's here.

In September, we're opening the doors under a new name and new management as the Aphra Behn Theatre.

Over the next few weeks we're going to show you around, introduce ourselves and tell you what we're hoping to create here.
