Hi guys. You are all cordially invited to a very special celebration of the life of Phil Brownsword at the Hop Inn, Newcastle-under-Lyme on Tuesday November 26 from 7:30pm.
We're calling it 'The Sponge C ' because despite all the many and varied ways we fondly remember Phil and his magic the 'SC' was the one trick that he made his own. That and his cringe-making - but often hilarious - 'dad' jokes.
So we decided to put these two themes together in an evening of laughter and celebration to help remember all the good times we spent with him.
There'll be a raffle, chip butties and a special 'Sponge C Trophy' awarded to the best dad joke teller of the night - as well as impromptu magic from those of his friends who wish to perform.
The tone of the evening will be relaxed and light-hearted - just as Phil himself would have wanted.
Entry is £5 on the night with proceeds being added to the raffle total and the generous donations made separately to the Phil Brownsword fund-raiser.
We'll be announcing the grand total at the end of the evening and all funds will go to The Douglas Macmillan Hospice, where Phil's mum is currently being treated for cancer.
We'd love to see as many of Phil's magic mates as possible show up for this important evening of celebration, so please make it if you can and share this post with members of other clubs you feel might also wish to attend.
For visitors from outside the area who may consider an overnight stay we can provide details of very reasonably priced overnight accommodation within walking distance of the Hop Inn.
