Today I received this from a lovely family after doing an ashes internment and a service afterwards in a beautiful function room.
Many people choose a direct funeral and the family honour them by putting together a special celebration of their life to be held either straight away or at a later date.
Very privileged to be asked to do this..xx

Yesterday I took a celebration of life service at a stunning venue in Rugeley for a much loved lady. She had sadly passed away at her home abroad and the family wished to share memories and stories with friends and family here in the uk.
The love in the room for her was something that will stay with me for a long time. ❤️ the trust was placed in me to deliver and it was beautiful.x

Just thought I would share a little of my journey..
I am an oncology sister in a hospital and have been a nurse for over 30 years.. my experience of dealing with the bereaved has led to me training to become a celebrant..
I honestly feel I have found my second life vocation. I absolutely love my work.
It’s all about making a difference and I am so lucky to have 2 “jobs “ that do just that..x

Yesterday I did the service for a former miner who was incredibly proud of his work down the pit in Cannock in his earlier years.
I sourced this beautiful miners lamp from a kind man on my Facebook and we lit this throughout the service..it was placed with him and his family were so pleased.

And now I am privileged in another way; by planning services as a celebrant both before and after people pass..
By visiting people before they die; end of life or otherwise gives the opportunity for the person to make their wishes clear and to set the tone for their celebration of life service..
