Today, we begin 3 days of national mourning in Guyana as we remember the lives lost in the heartbreaking MV Barima tragedy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with every family grieving the loss of a loved one, those still waiting for answers, and all the communities affected by this devastating event.

May the souls of those who have passed rest in eternal peace, and may their families find strength, comfort, and hope in the days ahead.

Today, our hearts are with my fellow Guyanese people following the heartbreaking MV Barima boat tragedy.

We mourn the lives lost, including so many children, and extend our deepest condolences to every family affected by this unimaginable loss.

In moments like these, words can never fully ease the pain, but we stand in prayer and solidarity with our brothers and sisters across Guyana.

May God comfort those who are grieving, strengthen the survivors, and grant eternal peace to those who have passed.
