Drinking from the quaich is one of Scotland’s oldest wedding traditions, here is why we do this at Venachar Lochside (Scotland’s most stunning wedding venue! And just 1 hour from Glasgow 😊)

The two-handled cup was once shared between clan leaders as a sign of trust. To drink from it, both hands were needed, meaning neither person could reach for a sword. At a wedding, the tradition now symbolises unity, trust and the joining of two families.

In modern day, it is also a great excuse to enjoy some fine whisky!

This was one of the most fun weddings we have had, and here is why:

Every guest was smiling the whole time!
Everyone loved music, so they spent the whole day and night dancing and singing.
Karen and Heidi are such a lovely couple 🩵

The confetti shot is such a key moment, as it is the first celebration you have as a couple, after the first kiss of course 😊

This group were all a fantastic laugh and absolutely covered their brides in confetti 😆

We don’t take ourselves too seriously at Venachar Lochside. We love fun moments like this!

Our candlelit tables are one of our couples’ favourite parts of Venachar Lochside!

We cover the tables in glassware, candles, place cards and napkins, while your florist, usually ❤️, covers the tables in stunning foliage and flowers! However, the choice is totally yours! You can use Venachar Lochside as a blank canvas and DIY!

We want Venachar Lochside to be the most stunning venue in Scotland to match our view, so it’s the wee touches like these that we feel will get us there. What do you think, would you choose this table set up?
