Anyone fancy some Afternoon tea? I tested out some chocolate macarons earlier this week in readiness for our Thermomix tea party theme this month. Macarons are not the easiest of treats to make but these turned out really well for a first attempt 😋

Well, it appears I jinxed it when I posted on here last!!

Just an update to say "Hi, I am still here"

Shortly after my last post, my linked teacuptales instagram account was hacked and was then deleted. I lost my personal facebook profile in the process and also my new facebook business page with Thermomix (more about this in a bit) So, over the past few months, I've been busy trying to decide what to do with my vintage china hire business and also whilst starting up this new business venture with Thermomix, and....all while also going back to work part-time at IKEA!!!

Luckily, I've been able to be re-linked to this facepage page (Or I wouldn't be posting this now) as my friend and once business partner Michelle, still had access to be able to make me admin again....so grateful for this or I'd of lost everything I've spent the past 7+ years building up.

During the past few years, things have been quite quiet on the tea party front, Covid didn't help and I also lost a few of my lovely, trusted food suppliers. That said, I still managed to do lots of smaller birthday tea parties, wakes and a couple of weddings.

This year I have 3 weddings booked and have recently sent out quotes for crockery hire only (this is what I will focus on going forward) and for those that want food to be provided along side the crockery, I will pass on to other local caterers to provide.

So, here I am. Currently sat at my desk, aside from posting this, clearing junk from my inbox, sorting and deleting photos and nursing myself through Covid.....my first time, but it's not too bad. I plan to get posting on here again more regularly (being careful not to jinx it again) but now with the added feature that the food I post will be made in my THERMOMIX.

If you'd like to see what its all about, please like my new business page "Amy's Thermomix Cottage" to follow me in my Thermomix adventures and you never know, you might even be inspired to join me?

Amy x

ps Throwback photo to when my boys were small and cute and actually wanted to sit next to me!! They do still love a cup of tea though.

So, after nearly 12 months of being “off grid”, I’m finally back to give it another go! Going to see if I can manage to stay “active” on here and catch up with posting all the events I’ve been working on over the past 12 months….didn’t seem to manage it when I had all good intentions this time last year 😬🙈 I really have been so busy that social media had to take a back seat! And now though, through my absence, it seems that photos are out and reels are in so please bear with me while I catch up with technology😬 Not one of my strengths! No reels today though, just pics. Working alongside Izzy who catered for a celebration of life. What a lovely setting and so nice to combine Izzy’s amazing bakes with my pretty china. Hope to see you again soon Izzy x

Over the coming weeks, I will start to share all of the events that have managed to go ahead and that I've been fortunate to still play a part in, all since Covid-19 turned everything upside down. But today, the washing up continues from my latest wedding with

Cake and sandwich plates ✅
Milk jugs and sugar bowls✅
It's a slow process, everything washed and dried carefully by hand. Some of my pieces are nearly a century old and don't take kindly to modern day dishwashers!

After too many months in hibernation, yesterday I finally got to supply a wedding!! 3rd time lucky for this lovely couple Huge thanks to who never fail to deliver. Amazing cakes and service. Looking forward now to weddings and events where my pretty vintage china gets an outing too...

Takeaway boxes are just not the same.... Although no washing up to face today has to be a welcome bonus 😊

Thank you Sarah & Craig for the lovely flowers. What a lovely surprise 😊 Where did that year go??? Its a lovely sunny day today, not dissimilar to your wedding day last year. Hope you have a lovely 1st Anniversary x

Happy Lockdown Birthday to my little man, 11 today!! It's actually National cream tea day (celebrated on the last Friday in June) but Lewis requested sticky toffee and salted caramel cake instead and judging by the clean plates it was another lockdown baking winner!!
Looking forward to the day when I can employ him to help me with my teaparties 😉

A lovely bouquet of flowers to brighten up my week 😍
So thoughtful of Wayne & Katie and so lovely to see them both. Nearly 1yr married. Having made it through lockdown to our 15yr anniversary this week, we celebrated by staying in (after I'd been OUT to collect a takeaway 🙈) Here's to a new week, more DIY 😬 and happier times for all ahead...... I hope 🤞x

How's everyone doing? I seem to have lost track of how many days/weeks we have been in 'lockdown' now. Saturday mornings have seen more and more baking time tho and my youngest is really enjoying his new found cooking skills. This week was Grape and almond loaf. Recipe thanks to

Happy Easter to you all. It's not going to be quite the day many of us had planned but there is so much still to be thankful for. The sun is shining, daily walk completed and we have Easter chocolate to consume 🐰😊 Stay safe everyone xx

Well this is one Mothering Sunday we are not going to forget! Today I should have been working alongside the National Trust helping to provide 100's of Mothers Day Afternoon teas all served on my pretty vintage China. Sadly this, like so many other events have had to be cancelled. But, I can be thankful that the sun is shining, washing is on the line for the first time this year and I've had time to pot at least 50 hellebore seedlings in the garden. And..... My boys have happily entertained themselves without any arguments (so far)!
Happy Mothers Day Mrs P. Stay at home and I'll see you soon 🤞xx

Day 8 LOVE To MAKE

I'm a few days behind in posting so will do my best to catch up🙈

Cards...

Before crockery hire and tea parties took over, I used to love making cards. Mostly for new baby arrivals, weddings, christening and anniversaries. I've downsized my craft stash ALOT in recent months in order to make space for more crockery but I still make a few cards for friends now and again and I'm sure I'll do so again in the future.
