Inside you’ll find our Restaurant & Bar, Pavilion Kitchen and Ice Cream Parlour which offer a delicious range of food and beverages, as well as The Gallery in the Gardens and Buxton Brewery in our Retail Arcade. The Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to r

elax and enjoy a delicious freshly prepared meal served to you at your table. Whilst the Pavilion Kitchen offers a quicker solution with a range of hot drinks, sandwiches, pizzas and snacks. In The Ice Cream Parlour, you’ find a range of unique Ice Cream flavours on offer! The Gallery features stunning work from over 40 members of High peak Artists which are available to browse and to purchase, ranging from paintings and photographs to ceramics and jewellery. Buxton Brewery offer a range of their ales and more to take home, or an area inside and out to enjoy a drink. Throughout the year the Pavilion Gardens hosts over 100 fairs and events in our magnificent Octagon including local markets, antique fairs, bazaars and fetes. Outside, there are 23 acres of beautifully kept grassland for you to explore, this includes two parks, a lake with boats and even a miniature train! Set the Foundations: Agree on a budget, timeline, and rough guest list.

Choose Your Squad: Pick your Bridesmaids, Best Man, Ushers, and Page Boys.

Book the Essentials: Lock in your venue, registrars, photographer, and transport.

The Fun Part: Go to cake tastings, pick your color scheme, and say yes to the dress!

✨ 6 to 12 Months to Go
Menu & Music: Meet with our co-ordinator to choose your menu (tastings highly recommended!). Book your band or DJ.

Details: Choose your flowers, table decorations, and finalize honeymoon plans.

Spread the Word: Send out your invitations with accommodation lists.

✨ 3 to 6 Months to Go
The Rings & Things: Pick out your wedding rings, favors, and design your order of service.

Finalize Suppliers: Confirm final details with your florist, transport, cake maker, and photographer.

Party Time: Organize your Hen and Stag nights!

The 1-Month Milestone: This is when our wedding co-ordinator will reach out to finalize everything—menus, final numbers, special diets, colors, and exact timings!

Fittings: Final dress fittings for the bridal party, including hair and makeup trials.

Seating: Arrange your seating plan and organize thank-you gifts for your helpers.

✨ The Final Weeks (You’re almost there!)
Drop-Off: The day before the wedding, drop off your table decorations, favors, and table plans at the venue with clear instructions.

Break in the Shoes: Don't forget to wear your wedding shoes around the house!

Breathe: Appoint a member of the bridal party to be the main contact on the day so you can completely relax.

Buxton’s Festival Season Continues with Gilbert & Sullivan

The curtain may have come down on another wonderful Buxton International Festival, but Buxton’s summer of entertainment is far from over.

From Saturday 1st to Saturday 15th August 2026, the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival returns to Buxton for its 32nd year, bringing two weeks of music, comedy, colour and theatrical tradition to the town.

The festival attracts performers and audiences from across the UK and around the world, with a packed programme of professional productions, amateur performances, concerts and special events. Much of the action takes place at the magnificent Buxton Opera House, just a short walk from Pavilion Gardens.

Whether you are a lifelong Gilbert and Sullivan enthusiast or discovering their work for the first time, the festival offers a fantastic opportunity to experience famous productions, memorable melodies and plenty of characteristic wit and humour.
