YouTube will teach you what to do. One-to-one tuition teaches you why something isn't working and how to fix it in the moment.

That's the difference. You can watch a beatmatching tutorial 40 times and still not understand why your mixes are rushing. Two hours in the room with someone who's been doing this for 35 years is a different thing.

Short answer: no.

The gear you practise on shapes your technique. Getting good habits on professional kit first — then moving to your own setup — puts you in a much better position than the other way around.

RoomsFest was a huge success! 🎉 The energy, the people, the music – it’s reminded me just how important it is for our scene to keep coming together, talking, and supporting each other. It’s lit a fire under me, and I think for many others too.
This is just the start – there will be more gigs like this, with The Rehearsal Rooms and HC teaming up to bring as many opportunities as possible for bands, DJs, and everyone involved in keeping our local music alive and kicking.
Let’s keep the momentum going. 💥🎶
