My Husband's idea of a nightmare but he's the one with tons of great photos of him and the kids...what about me? This is one reason I wanted to offer these shoots. That, and the opportunity of capturing genuine moments as we have time to settle in to real life with a camera around.

It’s about pausing time. Capturing bedtime stories, breakfast chaos, walks to the park, and bedtime routines. And because I switch between photo and video fluidly throughout the day, you’ll receive a beautiful mix of stills and video to relive real life as it happens.

Emotional Keepsakes for Real Life...

Time for a reset! It's that time of year where I use the first couple of weeks of the kids Summer holidays for a bit of a reset.

When you ask a documentary photographer to take formal portraits...

I always use to panic for group shots or posed portraits when asked as I wasn't sure what to do, how to pose people and really thought I lacked confidence.

Then one day it just clicked..let people be themselves! I can give a little direction if needed but find once you group together with people you love than the magic kinda happens on it's own!

Here's a few of my favourites from Faye's Prom earlier this week over in Ormskirk. She was literally bubbling with excitement from the moment I arrived and I wanted to capture that over a 'smile for the nice lady with a camera' moment.

I'd love to know if you prefer this over the more traditional approach...? Would this help you feel less awkward?

Prom. But make it candid...

Faye's Mum tells me she had a random thought at 2am that it would be nice to get some photos of Faye ready for Prom. I asked her it I could put my more relaxed documentary approach to good use and the very next day I was over in Ormskirk with my camera documenting this very special milestone for her Daughter!

Here are just a few of my personal favourites and I'll be sure to share the full 'best bits' slideshow and blog soon!

They won’t stay this little forever. I mean, we know it but then before we've had chance to do something about it their flying through the school years and we are forever catching up... that can't just be me??

But the way they talk, move, giggle? You can keep that. How?

"Out of Office" Vibes...Taking some time to recharge this half term!

I’ll be slower to reply but full of energy when I’m back. Actually, that's a lie...because when is a break with kids ever a break? haha

Whether you're juggling work, have adventures planned or just enjoying the sunshine, hope you get a moment to pause too.

This was the last break we had that I took the time to capture on film using the Kodak Ultramax 35mm for the first time. I think they bring a bit of a nostalgic feel to the images, don't you?

Now to decide if it's the film or digital camera for this break...what do you think?

Honest and Genuine Family Photography and Film

I’m guessing you’re here because you’re looking for an alternative style of family photography and videography…?

Like me you HATE the idea of posing and know it’ll make you feel awkward (never mind the kids!).

You also know your kids probably won’t respond well to ‘direction’ to get that perfect family portrait or the baby will choose the photo shoot day to be grizzly (they always time it so well don’t they??)!

Maybe you’re fed up of only having selfies of you all together and fancy getting one of those really natural shots you capture but with you in the frame for a change?
