Been a while since I've posted, been a while since I've flown, been a while since I've edited, so its nice to have done some of that whilst on holiday with the family at Marconi cadet week.

Lesson here is that you may not always have time to do the extra extra stuff with a busy life but don't sweat it, take oportunities as they come, i'm incrredibly grateful to my family for giving me those rare oportunities.

Does ineos have a problem on the outer courses?

Clearly Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (LRPP) have a speed advantage upwind by a knot or two over Ineos Team UK (ITUK), and this translates well when there is a consistent wind over the course.

We have seen the power that Giles and Ben have on a shiftier inner stadium course as they have been able to work the shifts much better and control the opposition by having Giles eyes and brain feeding Ben the best information.

Will we see this bear out if and when it a race is held on the inner stadium course or has LRPP really gained that lauded 10% performance boost?

If ITUK win on the inner courses can expect some form of protest to come from the LRPP camp?

Will we see the same action from ITUK if the racing is near the light end and on the outer course?

For me the racing on the outer course is just a drag race with no battles or position changes and if that’s what the AC is to become why not just race in sail rockets and fastest boat takes it.

I love the speed and the added complexity the foilers bring, and we have seen they can produce extremely tactical racing, But in this new class the speed differential between the boats is too great at 1 or two knots and ends up looking like a whitewash, although the time delta suggests otherwise, and it’s the perception that matters here. The visual of a boat being a half mile behind isn’t great.

Bringing the speed difference down to 0.1 of a knot would make it better but is a huge ask in short time frame, so moving away from consistent breeze courses works in the short terms to bring in tactics and boat on boat racing.
