Our story so far part 2- From Flower Farm to Flower Shop

As you may know, initially I sold my home-grown blooms directly to local customers, including couples seeking British flowers for their weddings.

However, just as my production reached a sustainable level, COVID-19 restrictions were introduced. Having an abundance of beautiful seasonal blooms but no public events resulted in a sudden drop in sales, forcing me to completely rethink my business.

Luckily for me, at the time I was collaborating with fellow flower farmer Jenny Powell. In October 2020 we opened Flowers from No.6 and started selling gift bouquets from the door.

As business grew and COVID restrictions eased, we bought in cut flowers and houseplants to supplement our locally grown stock. We even roped in family members to lend a hand occasionally, (our delivery boy was particularly popular 😄)

Coming Soon... Our 1st Year Anniversary at 41-43 High Street Builth Wells

This Friday, August 14th, marks the first anniversary of opening our new shop. This year also marks ten years since I left Powys Library Service to begin growing and selling flowers from our smallholding in Rhulen.

Thank you to all of our customers for your continued support and encouragement. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you. In the meantime, here's a few pics from the early days 💐😄
