Happy Easter!

Ok, I know it’s not an Easter Egg, but look how beautiful this cake is and my couple said it was just delicious!

I love this style of cakes, they are truly a work of art and Nicole of sweet_satisfaction_cakes outdid herself with this one. I confess, I haven’t got such a delight to tuck into today, so it looks like I’ll be nibbling at the kids Easter eggs when they’re not looking.

We did it!

I still remember feeling like this on my wedding day, and when I was a bridesmaid to one of my oldest friends having one of these moments.

Weddings are a lot. Lots to coordinate and organise, but this moment right here is what its all about - actually being married! I don't always get to see this special moment as often, if my couples marry at a church, I'm busy getting everything ready at their reception. So when I do, its extra special for me. Although, equally, probably a good thing I don't get to see it too often, I'm a sucker for a wedding and it always makes me well up!

Given myself a slap on the wrist today for missing posting on Valentine’s Day - wedding planner faux pas!

But, yesterday I took the day off wedding planning to do something for the community to do some local volunteering, driving someone to their hospital appointment 40 miles away. Being in Cornwall, we’re not blessed with lots of hospitals or great transport to get around, it’s nice to be able to help out.

So, a belated happy valentines to you all and especially to you lucky ones who managed to put a ring on it!

So as ever I’m always working quietly behind the scenes on various things. One thing I’m excited to tell you all about is that I now offer decor hire!

So often I get asked by brides if I have decor they can hire from me for their wedding to save them having to source from elsewhere or make themselves. Before relocating to Cornwall I did have some lovely items for hire but had to sell them in the move so I’ve started again from scratch, but my collection is growing all the time!

Take a look at the beautiful wooden arch created by the very talented Mr Wild, looking gorgeous with some draping and cylinder vases and candles. All ready for L&C to get married under at one of my favourite venues - Hallsannery House.

As I say, the collection is just beginning so if you’ve got something in mind but can’t see it, get in touch anyway as I love having an excuse to get something new! And don’t forget I can also dress your venue for you too

I'm trying to bring out the sun again with todays post, iphone said it was supposed to be sunny but I can't see any sign of it yet. Although to be fair, it is still only January!

This is one of my favourite wedding photos ever. I'm not totally sure why, I think its because these guys are just way cooler than I ever was. But, this photo, on the sofa in front of the swimming pool, with a sneaky bit of leg from the bride... I just love it!

N&H were lucky enough to use a family home for their wedding and it was a simply stunning location. I love home weddings, they really are everything I'm about. They give you the opportunity to make the day completely your own, no-one is telling you what time you can access or where everything has to go. However, it also means theres no one to allocate all the little jobs to, so thats where I come in.

On the day coordination is perfect for home weddings, allowing you to sit back and relax and enjoy your day knowing all the details are taken care of. After all, you deserve to be a guest your own wedding!

This weekend I’m looking forward to celebrating a family members special birthday. Like many, family is really important to me and I love weddings for seeing families all together, having fun and enjoying catching up and partying together.

Weddings are such a lovely day to be part of and so many people say being a wedding planner must be an awesome job, it is!

Look at the commitment here from the bridal party to really create the moment!

I love seeing all the extra things couple’s add to their day. I’m very much about the details that make your day yours and if you can’t think of anything, am happy to help you come up with some ideas. I’ve seen lots of different things, although some of my favourites were surfboard and riding saddle guestbooks and bandeoke instead of a first dance to name a few!

On the day coordination.

So why did I choose this to focus on? Well, for a lot of the couples I’ve worked with, they’re happy to find their own suppliers but just want a helping hand through the planning process or to know that they have someone there on their side, whose sole focus on the day is them.

I love working with couples to bring the details together on their day be that setting up the venue just how you want it, or just taking the stress out of the day for you by coordinating your suppliers so you don’t have to. After 8 years in business I’ve done a lot of thinking this year about what I enjoy the most about weddings and the best way I can help people have an awesome day. And I’ve come to the conclusion it's time to do things a bit differently!

I’m moving away from the typical wedding planner offering and totally focusing on the type of planning I enjoy the most - on the day coordination. I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get my website remodelled and show you my new plans. Of course there is more to it than just on the day coordination, but we’ll come to that later!
