The year is 1896. In Cambridge, a group of young women arrive to begin their university studies. The Girton girls study furiously and match their male peers grade for grade. Yet, when men graduate, the women leave with nothing but the stigma of being a 'Blue stocking' - an 'unnatural', educated woman.
Through the journeys of Tess Moffat and her fellow students, the playwright explores themes of gender inequality, societal expectations, and the courage required to challenge the status quo.
