📝 Post-it notes are the devil of organisation.
Yes, I said it. And I did it, I banned them in all the offices I have ever worked in!!

Sticky notes. Loose notes. Notes on envelopes. Notes in phone apps you never open again.

They don’t organise your life — they multiply chaos.

Here’s why notes fail us:
• They get lost
• They get tucked into bags, books, drawers, coats
• They can’t be updated
• They shout at you from everywhere and nowhere

And suddenly you’re “very busy” but somehow nothing is actually done.

✨ The fix (boring but life-changing):

📘 One book.
🖊 One list.
📅 Date at the top.

That’s it.

✔ Cross off what you’ve done (dopamine hit included)
➡ Anything unfinished moves to tomorrow’s list
❌ No copying things endlessly
🧠 No visual noise
💆‍♀️ No guilt pile in fluorescent yellow

If it’s not important enough to live in the book, it’s not important enough to stress about.

Organisation isn’t about more systems —
it’s about less places to look.

I’m a Girl Friday — which means some days I see three or four different people, all with very different needs.

Different houses.
Different tasks.
Different situations.

So I don’t rely on memory.
I rely on systems.

I only ever use a multi-pocket backpack:
• everything has a home
• I know instantly what’s missing
• no rummaging, no stress
• and I’m hands-free (non-negotiable)

Because when your hands are free, your body is calmer.
And when your things are predictable, your brain copes better.

Every Sunday, I repack my “go bag”.
It takes 10 minutes.

Inside mine:
Ear buds
Diary
Client keys
Water
Sanitiser
Gloves
Note book
Laptop
Mints
Mini first aid kit
Charger
Phone
Car keys
Wallet
£10 in cash (you never know)
£1 coin for shopping trolley

That’s it.

Ten minutes of prep.
Five days of simplicity.

This isn’t about being organised.
It’s about removing friction — so I can show up calm, capable, and present.

So if today feels heavy, try this:
Do one small thing that makes tomorrow easier.

That counts.
That’s enough.

On the 10th of January (today) in 1920, the League of Nations was born.

After the devastation of the First World War, countries came together with a radical idea for the time:
What if we talked instead of fought?

The League of Nations was the world’s first attempt at international cooperation to prevent war, protect refugees, improve working conditions, and care for human welfare across borders.

It wasn’t perfect.
It didn’t stop everything that followed.
But it mattered.

Because it proved something important:
That even after unimaginable loss, people still chose hope over hatred, dialogue over violence, and care over indifference.

And the systems it built became the foundations of what we still rely on today.

In a world that feels loud, fractured, and heavy right now, that feels worth remembering.

✨ If you can be anything today, please be kind.
Kindness still matters.
Trying still matters.
Hope is never wasted.

🎄 Twelfth night yesterday means you now have a tree that you no longer want: how to responsibly dispose of your Christmas

here are my best low-stress, eco-friendly options:

🌿 Council collection
Most councils offer a scheduled Christmas tree collection in early January. Check your local council website — some require booking.

🌿 Garden recycling centre
Real trees can be dropped at your local tip and composted or chipped.

🌿 Cut & reuse
If you’ve got a garden:
– Chop branches for mulch
– Use needles for paths or borders
– Trunk sections make great log edging

🌿 Wildlife friendly
Lay branches in a quiet corner to create shelter for birds and hedgehogs (once all decorations are removed).

🚫 Avoid
– Dumping in hedgerows
– Burning indoors
– Putting real trees in general waste

✨ A calm start to January often begins with small, practical resets.

Hello 2026,

After an extraordinary 25, with more ups and downs than a yoyo in 1985, I am setting out to bring the chaos to an end. I work as a Girl Friday in the Cotswolds.

I create calm, dignity, and practical hope — for people, places, and moments that feel overwhelming

🌿 Monday Reset: 5 Good Habits to Start Your Week Right

Let’s be honest — Mondays can be chaos. But a few small tweaks can set the tone for the whole week.

Here’s what’s working for me:
1. Early shower, clean clothes, clear head
→ Even if the to-do list is wild, you’ve already started winning.
2. Supplements by 7:30am
→ Before the caffeine, before the emails, before the world tries to derail you.
3. Pack the go-bag
→ Ear pods, snacks, phone charger, brain. Sorted.
4. Tidy one surface
→ Not the whole house. Just one space that says: we are not spiralling today.
5. Plan one thing that’s for you
→ A walk, a coffee, a 10-min guilt-free scroll. Something that reminds you this is your life, not just your to-do list.

✨ Start small. Stay kind. Monday doesn’t get to win.
