Camper Canapes bakes are back! Last week a batch of bakes for our friend Angela’s birthday party at the Berry Head Hotel went down a storm. Triple decker Victoria sponge, carrot & orange, chocolate & beetroot and lemon curd cupcakes. 👍

We've been getting lots of enquiries for forthcoming events, so we thought a little flavour of our wares might be helpful for anyone checking the page. For example, for a three-hour drinks party with no other food, we would normally recommend 8-10 canapés per person, or 5-6 canapés per person and a selection of finger sandwiches. It's nice to have a combination of hot and cold, it's also better if the canapés are prepared just before serving to avoid soggy bottoms or dried up/wilted garnishes and sauces, so we would make sure everything was ready to assemble last minute as we serve.

To give you an idea of four of our most popular canapés, we prepare filo cases to fill with 1) spicy coriander prawns (served cold) and 2) roasted tomatoes and goats cheese (warmed through in the oven and garnished with a sprig of mint), 3) pork balls with a chilli dipping sauce (served hot) 4) homemade tortilla chips with basil and cashew nut pesto. We have of course, a wide range of different canapés to choose from, are happy to discuss all your requirements and we normally serve guests a glass or two of fizz (we can also provide this) to compliment the menu, leaving you to enjoy the party and mingle with your guests. Marvellous!

All our food is prepared by hand, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible and we cater for all dietary needs as required, so please keep spreading the word.

Last Thursday we catered for a group of around 20 people at their recently departed friend's wake with a selection of canapés and various finger sandwiches, while they celebrated his life with a few drinks before the ashes were scattered. At events such as these it is often easier to let us supply the food, the drinks, the glasses and serve your guests, all at a budget to suit.

As our clients are individual, so are our menus and we will always try to adapt to suit your requirements, from christenings to funerals, children’s parties to anniversaries, fundraising events to birthday parties. Our adaptable approach, attention to detail, and our friendly, helpful staff, will always ensure that your event works for you.

We have been busy baking away since the New Year, all the usual favourites, Victoria sponge, gingerbread men, chocolate and beetroot cup cakes, cranberry muffins plus our new savoury cheese scones, delicious on their own or a great accompaniment to a warming bowl of soup! We are currently taking orders for Christmas cake. Ours is an 8 inch (20cm) traditional, fruity little number, fed regularly with a little brandy in the weeks up until Christmas and topped with marzipan and icing. These need to be baked in the next 2 weeks so that they are fully matured in time for the big day. We can also provide smaller versions by dividing into 4, dependant on numbers.
