Some words from the team:
Not too long ago we threw a pretty ambitious show in Bristol. We took the Jungle Jazz series and expanded it into new territory with 3 stages covering a spectrum of live and dance music. If you were there - you know how special this was.
Leading up to it there were bumps in the road: low ticket sales, high margins, unexpected costs. It was racking up and our cortisol levels were through the roof.
It sounds a bit delusional, but we do feel as though sometimes passion has to take the front seat on these things, with a bit of blind faith that things will be alright (sensibly though).
With that in mind, we battled through it.
For the show, our break even figure was silly high and on the day we were set to lose £4,000, by the start of it we were almost there…
We did end up losing a bit overall, not much, but a bit. And though it was stressful and we came out at a loss, there was something so undeniably important about it, and we will be back with that concept again soon.
That being said though, there has been one thing that’s been on our mind a lot since…
The events brands that you know and love are struggling. We are all living in the reality of potentially having that big loss, and given the current economic landscape, it’s so hard for every person in the equation to keep afloat.
We need a more sustainable future, and this is why we’ve teamed up with for our next show.
SOS are making massive moves to fight alongside MVT and secure a better future for us all. It’s something incredibly admirable and really important to us.
According to 53% of grassroots venues failed to make a profit in 2025, and we lost 6,000 jobs.
These statistics are really quite scary, but also unfortunately not surprising considering the day to day experiences that we are having working in this industry.
Whilst we don’t have all the answers, one thing we do know is that the future relies on people like you who continue to support brands like us. It’s tough but we are pushing through it. We appreciate you all.
