Meet the Grower | ANSU Vanda

Our buyers work closely with growers and suppliers to source flowers for our customers, and recently they had the opportunity to visit ANSU Vanda and see first-hand the work that goes into growing these distinctive flowers.

ANSU has specialised in Vanda since the early 1990s, with breeding and propagation beginning in Thailand before the plants continue their journey in the Netherlands, where they are grown on for flowering..

And these are flowers that take time to perfect. A new Vanda variety can take up to 15 years to go from seed to commercial introduction, with varieties carefully selected for colour, shape, vase life and transport tolerance.

ANSU’s white Vanda took an incredible 25 years of breeding to develop.

Meet Lucy & Gemma 👋

You may already know Lucy and Gemma from around the Cash & Carry, out visiting customers or at our events, but we wanted to shine a little more of a light on the important role they play here at Flowervision Bristol.

As our Customer Experience Manager and Customer Experience Coordinator, they’re here to make sure you get the support you need, whether that’s help with the webshop, advice on pricing, finding the right rose for a wedding, or simply having a conversation about how we can better support your business.

Both experienced florists, they bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the industry to the team. Lucy has been part of Flowervision for some time, and many of you will know her from her regular visits out on the road. Gemma joined us earlier this year and has quickly become an important part of the team.

They’re here to listen, help and stay connected with our customers, both in branch and out on the road.

Something’s starting to look gourd-geous around here… 🍂

Cucurbita season has begun, bringing all sorts of colours, shapes and textures into the Cash & Carry.

Look out for varieties including Black Cat, speckled Patisson Mix, Lil P-ke-mon, bright white Baby Boo, a mix of mini Sierkalebas and the gorgeous soft tones of Sophie Pink.

The selection will continue to change as the season progresses, so speak to the team if you’re looking for a particular colour, shape or size.

We’re so excited to officially launch something created to support the next generation of florists.

The Future Florist Programme is all about helping students take their first steps into the industry, with access to professional products, trade pricing, industry knowledge, events and opportunities to learn, explore and connect.

And we’re starting with our brand new Flowervision Student Membership Card, giving eligible floristry students the chance to experience Flowervision Bristol while they study.

This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see where our Future Florists go next.

We’re Hiring | Office Administrator (20 Hours)

We’re looking for an organised, friendly and reliable Office Administrator to join our team at Flowervision Bristol.

This is a varied role where you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, supporting our office with administration, customer enquiries, delivery queries and assisting our Accounts team with day-to-day tasks.

Working Hours
Thursday: 7am – 3pm
Friday: 7am – 3pm
Saturday: 6am – 10am
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a confident telephone manner, strong attention to detail and a positive, team-focused attitude. Previous office experience is helpful but not essential as full training will be provided.

If you’re looking for a part-time role in a friendly, fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
