Congratulations to Lauren ( .the.florist ) one of our Bristol customers and a Florist of the Year: Newcomer Finalist! ✨💐

✨ What inspired you to become a florist?

I’ve always loved flowers and being creative, but I never thought about floristry until I was 19. I took short courses at Bath College, loved them, and went on to complete my Level 2 qualification.

✨ How did you feel when you found out you were a finalist?

It was a surprise! I came second in a competition in May and didn’t expect to make the final. Entering has boosted my confidence and encouraged me to put myself out there more.

✨ Favourite flower to work with?

Sunflowers, although they’re pretty tricky with thick stems. Though there aren’t many flowers I don’t enjoy.

✨ Any advice for future entrants?
Try not to overthink it. Relax and enjoy the experience.

✨Favourite piece you’ve created?

My wired shoulder sash design in May (slide 3), and a colourful funeral tribute I made for my boyfriend’s grandad (slide 2), which meant a lot to me.

Smilax is back and looking amazing! If you’ve been waiting for that long, trailing green for your installs, now’s the time to get your pre-order in. Each box gives you around 110–120ft, it lasts up to 6 weeks with the right care, and it’s perfect if you’ve got multiple events lined up 💐

Just a heads up - it’s pre-order only, not held in stock, and only available for Wednesday delivery or collection. Make sure your order’s in by 10pm Monday for delivery the following Wednesday (8 days later).
