It was a beautiful music night with Friends of Brockley Church on Saturday. Martin Stephenson Daintees put on a very special show to a packed out Church and we are all very grateful to everyone who came along to share and support in this lovely fundraising evening. Special thanks to Tony Stephenson for his atmospheric, excellent lighting and sound, and to the Friends volunteers who provided the refreshments 🎸

We are thrilled with the huge response to this lovely fundraising gig by Martin Stephenson Daintees at St Nicholas Church on Aug 30th We are absolutely full to capacity but please do join our waiting list on WeGotTickets as we will list any returns back on there.

You may well be aware of the Western Forest which is a new National Forest which will span Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and the West of England, focusing on five core areas over its first five years. It will support over 2.5 million people and plant at least 2500 hectares of woodland and tree habitats. See details via this link https://forestofavon.org/western-forest/

We are very pleased that Claire Byers, Communications Officer for the Forest of Avon has agreed to make a presentation about the Western Forest and Trees for Climate, the tree planting grant, which is available to landowners, including Parish Councils. This is an existing grant which can offer 100% funding for various types of tree planting. It forms an integral part of the Forest of Avon Plan and will dovetail into the exciting new Western Forest aims and objectives.

The talk will take place on Tuesday 9th September in Cleeve Village Hall at 7.00 pm (ahead of our usual monthly Parish Council meeting) and all are welcome.

We are excited for our next event at Cleeve Village Hall. A long way off but we can only fit in a limited number of tables/teams in so booking early is recommended. This is going to be so much fun…. Mark Feven - Piano Man will play all the songs live and there will be prizes for the top 3 teams plus one for the best Costume! Don’t worry dressing up is definitely just optional though 🤣 we hope to see you there 🙌👻
