are back at it again, with this absolute weapon of a 4 tracker, featuring 2 artists (Videopath & Westcoast Goddess) giving us 2 tracks apiece and taking a side each.
1st track on the A side is a peak time bomb of the highest order from Videopath with 'Back In The Flesh'. Footstomping, hand-waving and arse shaking guaranteed. Think: 'Crackazat on steroids'.
2nd A side groove is 'A Place In The World', a more restrained but effortlessly classy, smooth, bumpin soulful groover that hits the right spot.
On to the flipside for Westcoast Goddess' pieces, where we find 'Go Tha Distance' for the first track. This is a light, airy, optimistic analogue synth-laden take on the classic house style, that squelches along very nicely, leaving you feeling that maybe everything ain't so bad after all.
But the one here is 'Holodeck Lover'. This will be getting some serious action. Modestly sampling 'Happy' by Surface, originally on their eponymous boogie/R&B/street soul album from way back in 1986, this one goes 'all buttons in' on the feels and combines an insanely catchy bassline groove and deliciously deep emotive pads, with a lead synth bell/chime line that lands perfectly on the bullseye. Love this one to bits.
