Martin & Andy Play The Real Book

To launch The Be-Bop Club 26/27 season we start with the front-line pairing of saxophonist Martin Kern and trumpeter Andy Hague.

They will be ditching the printed arrangements and playing a selection of standards and Blue Note era classics they both know from memory, in homage to the famous Real Books. For the non-players out there the Real Books are collections of jazz tunes used for repertoire by many jazz musicians since the early 1980s.

The Alan Fletcher Band . Hen & Chicken . Friday 11th Sept.

Alan Fletcher may be best known for his 31 year tenure on Neighbours, but lately it’s his talent and passion for making folk and Americana music that has been delighting audiences at home and abroad.

Drawing on the influence of legendary storytellers like John Prine and Guy Clark, Fletcher crafts and delivers songs that tackle the human condition with warmth, compassion and a wry sense of humour.
