Dog Unit’s language exists beyond words; it’s not in the telling, but in the feeling. The four friends take on the scale of a mutant orchestra, a single mind of 16 limbs in perpetual forward motion and unspoken shared purpose. A motorik groove, an insistent hook, a melody’s shifting breeze – these aren’t rock songs, but living, breathing creatures as prone to change and constancy as we are.

An elevation of their forerunning EPs Barking to Gospel and Turn Right and Right Again, the quartet’s music is more ambitious – and more lovingly crafted – than ever before. Fluent in a dialect of their own creation with an instinct to run with the pack as far as their legs will take them, Dog Unit are a leaner, sharper beast than ever before.

Ears To The Ground is the first in a new recurring showcase featuring emerging artists.

Big Red - the solo writing vehicle of Joseph Scarisbrick - introduce themselves with their immediate and tense debut single “Isn’t He Funny?”. Originally conceived as a home for songs that sat outside the world of his other project, The Orchestra (For Now), the band has evolved into a three-piece alongside drummer Charlie Hancock and bassist/vocalist Millie Kirby.

With more music to be announced this year, the new single marks something of a new chapter for Scarisbrick. Where his previous work frequently relied on dense references and literary allusion across The Orchestra (For Now)’s Plan 75 and Plan 76, this new endeavour takes a more direct approach. The writing is confessional and brutally honest, the music stripped back and candid; a band playing together in real time.

Following the new single, Big Red will play their first headline date at London’s Third Man Records in the Blue Basement next week. They are also slated to play End Of The Road Festival in early September.

Pye Corner Audio is the acclaimed electronic music project of British producer Martin Jenkins, crafting atmospheric soundscapes that blend BBC Radiophonic Workshop-inspired textures, library music, analogue synths, and post-punk influences.

Emerging through the celebrated Black Mill Tapes series, Jenkins has become a leading figure in modern hauntology, creating music that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. His releases on Ghost Box, Lapsus, Sonic Cathedral, and Emotional Response have continually evolved his distinctive sound.

Ninush is the solo project of London-based violinist, songwriter and producer Nina Lim, blending experimental electronica, intricate string arrangements and intimate vocals into a distinctive sound shaped by collaborations with artists including Black Country, New Road, Jockstrap, Geordie Greep and Little Simz.
