❤️Lucy and Anna❤️

This wedding was so lovely. A proper city centre one at which is such a great place for a wedding you can really add your touch to.

I think Lucy and Anna’s words wonderfully sum up how personal a celebrant led wedding is, and how us celebrants are able to give a voice to couples who want to share an insight into their relationship and unique love. It was just perfect.

I’m doing introductory calls at the moment, and conversation often turns to the weather and the all important contingency plan. How we fear the rain!

In these conversations I often talk about Laura and Neil’s amazing wedding ceremony which started off sunny, was punctuated with thunder and ended up with big fat rain (September 1st 2024 remember the rain?!)

Up to this point I thought this would be disastrous. Little did I know it would be wonderful and totally hilarious, and this photo of Laura holding her finger out to get the job done before the mad dash is case in point.

If these photos by were my wedding photos, I would be delighted. They are brilliant and reflect the characters of Laura and Neil perfectly!

Yesterday I delivered a heart felt naming ceremony bathed in dappled October sunshine around a bonfire- nothing says autumn like it. It was such fun to be observed by too. We both agree that naming ceremonies are such a lovely way of welcoming a baby into the world and into the experience of being human.

Barley Wood in Wrington is such a lovely venue- the view from the ceremony is glorious and the gardens magical. The umbrellas came out, but nothing could dampen the mood for Alex and Alice’s ceremony. There were plenty of tears, laughter and barks from Nellie, Alex and Alice’s golden retriever, as I told the story of two SADOs falling in love. It was wonderful.

Yesterday I delivered the naming ceremony of little Finlay. He has such a lovely family and it was wonderful to work with them to create the perfect event to celebrate the joys of being human. We appointed Finlay’s guideparents and made wishes for his future. The ceremony was in the beautiful spot in Pops’ back garden and culminated in the planting of a tree to go next to his brothers’. My day culminated in a spot of Annie Mac!

Until today I didn’t realise that I had a wedding type bucket list, or that today I was going to tick one of that bucket list off.

But it turns out that conducting the ceremony for a biker/motorcyclist rally wedding in the eye-line of Glastonbury Tor was goals!

It wasn’t for the faint hearted as the heckles rolled in as quickly as the tears, but it was AMAZING! What an incredible venue too!

The guest were the most receptive of audiences as I told the story of two bike obsessed teenagers meeting at a rally, falling in love, and 11 years later getting married in front of all those people who have seen them grow and blossom into awesome people. It was so good!

Last Sunday I went to Purton near Swindon for the naming ceremony of this gorgeous little boy. His mum and dad knew that, along with welcoming guide parents into his life, they wanted to mark his arrival without any religion content. They held it in the upstairs of The Angel Pub and grandma put on quite the spread! A wonderful afternoon is a beautiful part of the country.

This evening I married this amazing couple who are in their 70s and have been together for 30 odd years. They knew they wanted something low key and small, and didn’t want too much of a fuss. We put together a heartfelt ceremony and in front of their 12 family members, at a Somerset pub bathed in evening sunshine, we got them married. And it was lovely!

Yesterday I had the most wonderful time marrying Helen and Rishi. Their guests were such fun- the laughs, the oohs, the ahs, the tears were in full force. It was brilliant.

This couple worked so hard to make their wedding the spectacular that it was, and they dealt with the craziness the weather had in store with humour and grace, which is pretty much how they operate in their relationship too.

Thanks to for their brilliant photography, and to Vinted for their unknowing, but unending, support in the matter of dresses.
