Thank you to the lovely people of The Green Door Store for the shout out! And Happy International Women's Day!!!
To their sentiment, we are a small company of women working together in the music industry whilst being passionate fighters for equality. I personally feel very fortunate to be working alongside two of the most bad ass women I've ever met.
To all female identifying and non-binary people, have an excellent day smashing gender norms and expectations, you're doing amazingly every day of the year!
love,

HAPPY International Women's Day 2019!
There's an ongoing misperception that there aren't enough female-identifying* artists, that there aren't enough female* promoters, engineers, managers, roadies, label owners, A&R, publicists, the list goes on and on... it just couldn't be further from the truth. They're out there, and they're working HARD. The issue isn’t that there aren’t enough, it’s that there is a lack of representation, recognition and acknowledgement for what we do.
We are proud to say that we have an all-female* Production & Programming team here at GDS and every single day we find ourselves empowered by the innovative and inspiring women whom are the incubators of emerging talent, across all aspects of the industry - from venue owners to radio station managers, to radio hosts, DJs, bar staff, and the wide array of partners that we work so closely with.
2019 dawns a year wherein women will further influence this sector and anchor the cultural conversation that is needed for the change we wish to see. As Beyoncé once said - “Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another.” So, here's to all the wonderful women out there. If anyone ever makes you feel like you can't do it, use it as incentive to work harder. Be brave, trust your own voice and the voices of other women collectively - break through the conditioning we’ve been used to for years that makes us feel like we have to value men’s voices over women’s and work together as a unit. Keep fighting the good fight - we see you and we see the mountains you climb daily.
“IT STILL FEELS LIKE A BIT OF A BOYS CLUB, BUT OUR CLUB IS GROWING TOO."
