An awesome set by the amazingly talented Steven Bamidele who opened up proceedings for our Bank Holiday gig with corto.alto earlier this week.

Every time we see him perform live, his show and sound gets better and better - we love you Steven.

Next week, for one week only, we're screening a four-wall installation of the epic film TAKKUUK.

Created in partnership with the charity In Place of War as part of their EarthSonic programme, the installation sees the renowned Northern Irish electronic duo BICEP - otherwise known as Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar - visual artist Zak Norman and filmmaker Charlie Miller collaborating with a number of Indigenous vocalists, including Katarina Barruk, Andachan, Sebastian Enequist (from Sound of the Damned), Tarrak, NUIJA, Niilas and Silla.

3D/AV Live is Max Cooper's immersive audio-visual performance system. Customised to every venue, with every show a unique experience, Max works together with architecture and space to deliver his unique blend of scientific and human stories that move off the screen to wrap the audience in sculptures of light and sound.

His visit to TOM will showcase Max’s latest album Feeling Is Structure plus material spanning Cooper’s celebrated catalogue, alongside new compositions that continue his exploration of the human experience through music.

Two incredible artists join us at Notes at The Old Market on 9 June.

London-born troubadour Nik Barrell brings his rich blend of folk, country and blues, shaped by years spent travelling the world and gathering stories, sounds and collaborators along the way. Expect uplifting songs, beautiful musicianship and the kind of set you can truly settle into.

Joining him is the acclaimed Astrid Williamson — former frontwoman of Goya Dress, whose debut album was produced by John Cale of Velvet Underground. Across a remarkable 30-year career, Astrid has collaborated with artists including Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner and Lisa Gerrard, while carving out a singular sound of her own. Her latest record, Shetland Suite, was named Mojo Magazine’s #1 Folk Album of 2024.

An unforgettable evening of songwriting, storytelling and atmosphere awaits, all hosted by the one and only Sylvie Lewis.

The one and only Steven Bamidele joins us at TOM, supporting corto.alto for his special Bank Holiday show this May!

Steven Bamidele is a Nigerian-born, London-based singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. Known for his distinctive reverb-drenched falsetto, synth textures, and syncopated beats, Steven creates a forward-thinking soulful sound. Citing the influences of contemporary creators Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, Solange, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, he puts social commentary and artistic narratives at the forefront of his music.
