This was the last image I captured as Joanna Leigh Couture and never in a million years could I have imagined that Garry and myself would be handing over our custodian duties to prospective new owners. Over the past 10 years we have loved, nurtured and cared for these iconic premises in Brigg. They are a fundamental thread woven in Brigg's long history and have sheltered us and many other families and businesses for over a century, is that not incredible?
To those that follow in our footsteps and become the new custodians, we will leave Crest Villa, No 2 and No 4 in your care and hand over the keys to our hearts.

It would not be fitting if we failed to send our special thanks and appreciation to the following:

Dearest neighbours and fellow folk of Brigg, you have been so welcoming, kind and generous to Garry and myself, saying farewell to Brigg to pursue our retirement dreams will be emotional.

Each and every Joanna Leigh Bride and client that graced me with their beauty, friendship and trust, you will always have a special place locked away safely in my memories.
Pete Hewes and Luke Drewery at know.film who joined us on day one and became our friends and neighbours at No 2. We are so honoured to have known you in your early years of business and feel proud when we see the international professionals that you are today.
Karl at Earth Hair Studio, Leon at Renovae Aesthetics and Morgan at Beauty and Makeup by Morgan seeing your infectious smiles daily has been a real blessing and we wish you many more years of success in the beautiful surroundings you have created, you have done us proud.
My lovely Emma Laycock, Charlie McDonald and Isabelle Burton, your dedication, hard work and devotion during your time at Joanna Leigh Couture would surely have left an imprint at No 4, for as we all know, buildings are not just bricks and mortar.

I have been planning for this moment for almost two years, yet the words to express pride and gratitude simply fail me. I am blessed with happiness and joy bestowed upon me by my clients and I will remember each and everyone of you with fondness.
October celebrates my 30th year within the industry and hand on heart I can say with each passing year my passion for bridal couture has intensified and never wavered. Therefore, you may find it ironic that I chose this time to say my farewell.
During the Covid pandemic, I experienced a slower pace of life, appreciating family time for the first time in many years, without the day to day stress and exhaustion of running a lively business. To my surprise, an unexpected opportunity presented itself and I was totally captivated by an exciting and whole new world of creativity which lay before me. So you can imagine the dilemma I felt returning to an intensely busy schedule with three years of weddings condensed into one! I felt it was time for a change and the decision to leave the bridal industry came to me with ease, fulfillment and contentment.
Throughout my career I have been generously blessed with love and support, too many kind souls to mention but I hope you feel the appreciation and love I have for you. It is widely known that a company is only as good as it's employees and it is important to me that Jodie Leigh Wells, Emma Laycock, Charlotte McDonald, and Isobel Burton know that their presence at Joanne Leigh was instrumental in building this small business, but more important your talent, patience and personality have helped secure a reputation that we all can be proud of. Hopefully your time with myself at Joanna Leigh will remain fondly in your memories too.
So what does the future hold for the design studio that Garry and I lovingly restored? As we close the doors for a final time on 31st October we hand over the keys to an equally creative Brigg business with aspirations for expansion, watch this space!
As for myself, I look forward to a more comfortable working/life balance and allowing myself the courtesy of being open to new and creative opportunities.

During my journey to assist the beautiful Vessy family on this momentous day, I drove through the most dramatic thunderstorm I have experienced. Nature sure is powerful but equally as kind and when Mr & Mrs Henshaw become one, the sun shone and the birds sang their sweet tunes.

Happy New Year!
As we say goodbye to the passing year, I gather all the memories of my 2022 brides and safety place with in my treasure trove with all the precious souvenirs I have been blessed with. 2023 welcomes the 30th anniversary of my journey which lead to where we are today, I think this year will be an extra special one for the little bridal design studio in North Lincolnshire. ❣️

I had such great expectations to extend my warmest wishes on the Eve of Christmas but sadly failed to find the time. Then today during an appointment, Helen, one of of beautiful Brides-To-Be reminded me that is is never too late to share a little Christmas cheer. I do hope our festive window dressing has brought you some cheer and as Tiny Tim said in my favourite Charles Dickens story "A Merry Christmas to us all; God bless us, everyone!"
