Hello everyone, and Happy New Year. I hope your Christmas has been peaceful and you managed to get some rest.
January is often a difficult month. Not only is it a darker, colder and wetter month than most, it's also a reminder of a year starting without the people you have loved and lost.
Sadly, the winter is a time when more people die than the other seasons so many of you will have anniversaries of deaths this month or next.
Sometimes we think we need to "just get on with it" but I was reminded yesterday when talking to a lady about her mother that a little ritual can make all the difference. This lady's mum's ritual was to pour a tot of rum, go into her garden and raise it to the sky in memory of someone on their birthday. No one else was invited, few words were ever said but she paid her own tribute.
Your tribute is important, no matter how small or large, how private or public, so don't shy away from remembering.
