Applications are officially open!

The Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2026 are back, and this year they're bigger than ever. With 20 categories covering businesses of every size and specialism, there's a place for everyone, from small businesses and rising stars to established names across Somerset.

This year's Awards mark a new chapter for the Chamber, with the event moving to an even bigger venue on Friday the 20th of November 2026 at Batch Country House.

Applications close on Thursday the 17th of September 2026, so don't wait too long.

Good morning Bridgwater!

It's been a while since they've graced your screens but Steve from Bridgwater Castle Market and Sam from Paul Smith Associates have both popped in to see Ali at Nice Buns recently.

Steve has been keeping his lovely wife happy by buying Strawberry Pavlovas for her. These have proved so popular with customers that Ali has also started to make larger versions to serve 8 people.

Sam opted for a mystery box and we have to wonder if some of his favourite chocolate cake was in there.

Nice Buns and Taylor Made are always there to help the Bridgwater community celebrate special events with Ali providing the sweet treats and Sue often providing balloons and decorations.

It's great that we can always and show that 😊

This is what Fridays are about! We love popping down to the market.

Good morning Bridgwater!

Today is Bridgwater Castle Market Day and this pic was taken last week by Steve our wonderful market organiser. He's pictured with Ali from Nice Buns, Sue from Taylor Made and Mark our fruit and veg stall holder.

Both Sue and Ali started their businesses as market stall traders, then they progressed to units with the Cornhill market before taking up permanent homes in their neighbouring shops in St. Mary's Street. Between the two of them they have celebration cakes and party decorations covered and are the go to people for many of us in the team for special events.
