OK where do I start?

I’ll keep it as short & sweet as I can, but what a fantastic weekend if I do say so myself.

When Ade Shaw & myself started this simple event from the side of a marquee back in 2016, neither of us would have imagined it would turn into the lovely beast it’s become now!

On behalf of myself & fellow organiser Louise LouLou Belcher, who, & without her enthusiasm, help & tireless work behind the scenes this event simply wouldn’t happen, we would just like to thank the 100’s & 100’s of you lovely folk so much for coming along to ‘Run To The Severn’ 2025, & making it a truly memorable weekend.

The sun shone of course, which made both Friday night & Saturday hot & epic!

A special mention & huge thanks of course to Ian George & Bridgnorth Rugby Club & all the wonderful staff, Marshals & especially all those behind the bar who worked tirelessly to keep everyone ‘hydrated’ whatever their tipple. 😉

My fellow DJ’s Moldie & Reggae Rita for keeping the crowds entertained in between the 4 bands throughout the weekend.

The awesome bands, The Sound AKA, The Croupiers, The Skastuds & Fossil Fuel, who kept the 100’s & 100’s who attended, bouncing around all day & night.

Both Lou & I really appreciate the support & lovely comments we’ve received from so many of you , we’re always grateful for your feedback. Thank you.

We’re just letting the dust settle for a few days, & having a little rest, but a meeting is afoot for ‘Run to the Severn 2026’ … Fancy it? Watch this space.

Ok folks the weekend’s finally arrived, game on & the sun is shiniiing 😎

Just a few last minute preparations to make at the ground & a few FAQ’s to answer & hopefully make your visit a great one?

* Friday 11th . Gates open at 14.00hrs ( 2.00pm in old money)

*. Those arriving in cars ‘& camping’ you’ll be parking on Car Park ‘A’ , 1st on the left as you enter the site. There is a small pull in on the right to use just to unload your gear.
Strictly no cars on the pitch or camping area.

*For those arriving in cars & not staying over, parking is available next door to the ground on the Severn Park. This is a Council run car park & charges apply, sorry.
Please be aware that the gates to the Severn park are locked at night around 9.00pm & I’m sure an overnight penalty charge is in operation.
Don’t worry if you’re attending our event Friday & Saturday & get locked in as the club will open their gates at around 9.00 pm to allow you to exit the site via the Rugby club grounds. There are plenty of signs on the Severn Park so please take a look.

* For those booked & arriving in campervans you’ll be on car park ‘B’
Pitches should be pegged out for you, but please park with consideration for your fellow campers. No awnings, sorry as we have limited space.
Any overflow campervans will go on the hard standing area at the rear of the clubhouse.

* Those arriving on scooters, drive directly to the end of the lane, bear right & a marshal will meet you there for tickets & payments.
You’ll be able to ride along the left hand side of the pitch to the camping area at the far end behind the goal posts. You’ll be able to leave your scoots next to your tents if you wish?

* Strictly no fire pits or BBQ’s for obvious reasons!

Entertainment starts Friday night in the clubhouse at around 7.00pm with northern soul , ska, DJs Carl Hanson, Moldie & Reggae Rita.
Our Friday night band ‘The Sound AKA’ kicks off around 9.30

* Saturday 12th Gates open 10.00am

* DJ’s on the stage around midday
* Show us your scoots, side of the main stage from midday
* 2.00pm Scooter judging
* 2.30pm ‘ The Croupiers’ fantastic 10 piece soul band
* 3.30 scooter trophies on the stage
* 3.45 2nd set from The Croupiers
*.5.00pm raffle draw
* 6.30 The Skastuds
* 9.30 Fossil Fuel in the clubhouse
* 11.00 - 1-2 ish DJ’s Carl Hanson, Moldie, & Reggae Rita

* Sunday 13th

* For those still around I’ll be putting on a Northern & rare soul alldayer outside the clubhouse from around 1.00 -8/9ish

It’s going to be a hot one outside folks, bench seating is available with umbrellas, but if you can please bring your own seats if possible.

OK folks, with just over a couple of days to go until this years event, I’d just like to answer a few of the most common FAQ’s to hopefully make your visit a great one?

* Firstly. This is NOT a ‘ticket only’ event. You can simply turn up either Friday evening or Saturday & pay on the gate. Tickets on the day will cost £10.00 pp. This will allow you access to both Friday evenings live band & DJ’s & all day Saturday.

* Discounted tickets are still available on line of course for those wanting to save a couple of quid. Click here 👇

* Yes, camping ( tents only) is extra, at £10.00 pp per night . Again all info on the link above.
* We have limited campervan availability, but no ehu this year.( no larger than 5.5m & no awning).

* Yes, there are both male & female showers
* Yes, food & drink is available located in the clubhouse, including breakfasts, & the kitchen can cater for some dietary requirements. So please don’t bring your own to eat or drink out on the ground or in the club .
* Bars. Of course 😃. Located in the clubhouse.
* Children aged 14 & over WILL need a ticket, but unfortunately are not allowed in the clubhouse during the evening’s entertainment. Sorry.
* Well behaved Dogs are allowed, but MUST be kept on a lead,and will not be allowed in the clubhouse.
* Those visiting by car on Saturday & not staying over, there are car parks close to the event, the closest being directly next door to the event on the Severn Park.

All kicks off on Friday evening at approximately 7.30 with DJ’s Carl Hanson, Moldie, & Reggae Rita playing a great mix of Northern Soul, Ska, 2Tone & fave rally sounds.
Plus this year we have a great live band Friday night helping to get things lively.
The Sound AKA. A great four piece Punk-Ska-Mod- alternative covers band.

* Saturday, we’re bringing you 3 more live bands & DJ’s playing throughout the day on the outdoor stage & in the club from 9.30pm until 2.00am
Approx times:-
14.30: The Croupiers . A Brighton based 10 piece soul sensation. Playing Northern, rare and classic soul, beat & Mod.
18.30: The SKAstuds. Playing great Ska, 2Tone sounds for a right royal knees up 😃
21.30: In the clubhouse we have Fossil Fuel banging out your favourite rally tunes.

* Inbetween the bands, don’t forget we’ll be handing out the great trophies for the best Lammy, Vespa, Rusto, auto engineered & not forgetting the Dave Smith memorial cup.
With some fantastic raffle prizes also available, with donations from :- Disco Dez scooters, Swiss Tony scooters, Scooter Surgery, Shaw Fire scooters, Tanners wines, Scootering magazine, Gary Dury, with all proceeds going to our chosen charity this year, The Midlands air ambulance .. So bring plenty of cash!

* P.s I forgot to mention that we also have a few great scooter related trade stands booked this year for your mooching delight. 👍

Yes, £7.00 gets you entertainment Friday night with live band ‘The Sound AKA plus confirmed DJ’s so far Moldie, Reggae Rita & yours truly banging out great Northern Soul, Ska, 2Tone & your favourite rally sounds.
It also gives you entry to Saturdays event with 3 live bands + DJ’s all day until 2.00am!

It’s going to be another fabulous weekend with live music from The Sound AKA, The Croupiers, The SKAstuds and Fossil Fuel throughout the whole weekend on the outdoor stage and in the clubhouse. Plus Rally DJ's playing the best in Northern Soul, Motown, Ska, 2Tone & Britpop.

Camping/showers, hot food (serving Breakfast too), bars, trade stands, charity raffle, rally merchandise, trophies for the Best Geared, Best Vespa, Best Lammy etc …. and … most importantly … SCOOTERS!!!! All set in the historic market town of Bridgnorth, on the banks of the River Severn.

Save the date !...
Run to the Severn Scooter Jam returns 11th to 13th July 2025 at Bridgnorth RFC! We're currently in the process of sourcing bands, rally DJs, scooter merchandise, stalls (sorry no food or drink) etc and happy to receive any recommendations. Early Bird Tickets will be on sale soon. Looking forward to seeing you all again in 2025!
