Operation Market Garden - the 9-day Battle of Arnhem 🙏

The Glider Pilot Regiment flew over 600 Gliders carrying the 1st Air Landing Brigade to Landing Zones mostly west of Arnhem and near the lower Rhine.

Glider Pilots and Pathfinders pause outside No. 8 Stationsweg, Oosterbeek during the Battle to sign the Kramer’s visitors’ book. Far left as you look Sgt. S. Graham holding book with Sgt. Louis Hagen MM looking over his shoulder author of the book Arnhem Lift (both ‘D’ Sqn.GPR). Far right holding the sten gun Hans Rosenfeld a German born Jew who served with the 21st Indep. Parachute Coy. as Cpl. John Rodley. He was K.I.A. the day after the photo was taken

Did you get to see the US Military Hospital whilst with us at the 1940's Weekender ... ?

A great example of the attention to detail and dedication that our many Re-Enactment Groups portray.

Few pictures taken from the Battle Skirmish.

One of this years major displays at our 1940's Weekender that caught lots of attention, rightly so.

Great to educate us all on the daring and often fatal works of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) developed by Sir Winston Churchill.

Massive love and thanks to Tania Szabo, Daughter of Violette Szabo, Derrie & Shirley for joining us.

Hopefully back with us in 2027 🫡
