Powys Libraries are once again looking for young volunteers to help in our libraries from mid-July onwards.

The role will include:
• Helping to register children for the Summer Reading Challenge and hand out related materials
• Encourage children to read 6 library books and complete the challenge by feeding back what they have read, read with them and help them to find their next books.
• Give stickers for each book read and a medal and certificate to those that complete the entire challenge.
• Help to create book displays, prepare for and help with Storytimes and craft activities.
• Show children how to use the Summer Reading Challenge website.
• If appropriate, support end of challenge parties/celebration events.

Volunteers should:
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and imaginative
• Enjoy talking to people and interacting with children
• Be polite and responsible
• Have a love of reading.

Young Summer Reading Volunteers need to be aged 14 – 25 years to join. Those aged 16 – 25 will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

SUMMER FETE DAY!

Looking forward to seeing you all from 2 pm. This is open to the public and everyone is welcome. There will be a selection of stalls run by the children, plus Pony Rides, Usborne Book seller (Buzzard Books), police car, bottle tombola, games, raffle, refreshments and much more.

Plus the PTFA have arranged for a magician to attend who will be offering free magic shows and much more.

NEWS: Explore the Story Garden this Summer

Children across Powys are encouraged to join the Summer Reading Challenge and explore the magical connection between storytelling and the natural world.

The Summer Reading Challenge invites children aged four to 11 to visit their local library, with the aim to read six books over the summer holidays. The challenge can help them to discover new books, and enjoy a summer filled with fun, imagination, and outdoor inspiration.

Llangors School PTFA Summer Fete is approaching fast!

The PTFA is looking for volunteers to help man the PTFA stalls which includes raffle tickets, bottle tombola and refreshments (teas/coffee). If you are able to help please fill out the form below:
