Two bits of news. Firstly Starmer has a new initiative to disperse “patriotic” crowds. Please see illustration Secondly the September edition of the folk club will be on this coming Wednesday, following the Jazz/Fringe break. We hope to see you all there!!

Hello people. Due to some feedback we have had over it being Jazz/Fringe week, and the associated musical demands of many of our performers that week. We will be giving this months club a miss to accommodate all of that. Have a great Jazz/Fringe week and see all of you lovely people in September!!!

Thanks to everyone for another great night. So lucky to have all your talent and support at the club. On a personal note, it was gratifying to be able to all come together and have a little rememberance of George Cooper. He is missed and it was nice to share some memories and a shared song at his passing.

Hello everyone. Sharing a bit of sad news here to those who knew him. George Cooper who was a one time regular at our club, passed away a few days ago. He upped sticks from Brecon to support his family in a business venture in England some years back. So we hadn’t seen him for a while. The first time I met George at an open mic I was running I thought he was a loud pain in the arse. And he was. But he was a lovely loud pain in the arse. A big proud Scottish vet who loved pi***ng in hedges with farmers in his farm visits.
He loved to entertain and songs dedicated to his wife were always very moving, and sincere. So wherever you are George, thanks for entertaining us, nos da, and rest easy.
