Sad to say - but this will be echoed throughout Angus in the coming months - closing in favour of online trading - its not just the big businesses that need the sales 🧡 we wish Candy Dreams every success in her new adventure 🍬🍬
This is such a hard post to write, but I’ve decided to close the shop on the high street after Christmas 💔
My wee shop has been such a huge part of my life, so I haven’t taken this decision lightly and I’m absolutely devastated it’s come to this. However, due to reduced footfall in the town centre, over a prolonged period of time, it is just not viable for me to continue any more, both financially and mentally.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my regular customers, please know that you could not have done more to support me and my business! I’m so grateful for every visit, chat, sale, Facebook share and referral you made 💞 a huge thank you to my staff, current and past, you played a huge part in making the shop what it grew to be and I’ll be forever appreciative of you all 🙏🏼
I also know that, as much as I feel as though I’ve failed, I could not have done more to fight for my shop! I diversified my offerings to include coffee, chocolate gift boxes, chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream etc. I worked with an amazing digital marketing consultant to promote the online side of my business, to try and make up for the shortfall in shop takings.
Unfortunately, it all just wasn’t enough to combat the rise in stock, electric, wages and the decline in customers…
So, it’s time for a new chapter. Candy Dreams is moving online so I can spend more time with my little girls and build the next stage of the brand — think limited drops, seasonal treat boxes and pop-up events!
The shop will close its doors on 24th December for the final time, but we’re not disappearing — we’re just evolving.
