Bratton Church Institute

Bratton Church Institute Versatile village hall venue in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Bratton is within easy reach of Westbury, Frome, Warminster and Trowbridge.

BRATTON CHURCH INSTITUTE is a charming, late Edwardian building with many original features. It is situated in the beautiful and historic village of Bratton, nestled below the edge of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire near the famous Westbury White Horse. GETTING HERE
Tyning Lane is in the middle of the village of Bratton adjacent to the B3098 just 4 miles from Westbury. Westbury is served by main lin

e trains from London and is less than half an hour from the main A303 route from London. Bath , Chippenham and Bradford on Avon are slightly further afield. There is a small public car park near the hall and on-street parking is available. FACILITIES
The Institute was extended and refurbished in 2009, meaning that it enjoys a mix of old charm and some modern facilities. Access is by two small flights of steps from the road to the main entrance door. Disabled/pram access is via a purpose-built ramp to the side entrance. The building sits within an extensive, level, plot which can be used to put up a sizeable marquee, gazebos etc. The Institute building comprises a hall, a meeting room, kitchen and toilets. The village pub (The Duke) is just across the road. THE HALL
The hall is accessed from the entrance lobby by two sets of wooden doors and measures 11.8m x 6.7m. There are attractive bay windows at each end, one overlooking the garden and the other overlooking Tyning Lane. There is a characterful vaulted ceiling and wooden floor. The hall can accommodate circa 120 people (circa 90 seated). There is direct access from the Hall to the extensive garden. There are tables and chairs available for use in the Hall and there is a piano. KITCHEN
There is a small, but well-equipped kitchen with a double sink and drainer, separate sink for hand washing, larder fridge, second fridge if required, microwave, electric kettles, urn, toaster, cooker with a double oven. There is dinner and tea crockery, glassware, cutlery, tablecloths and tea towels. For larger catered events, we have made use of refrigerated trailer hire, with the trailer stationed outside the building. GARDEN
The level garden measures 36 x 22.5m and is laid to lawn. It is possible to erect a sizeable marquee within this area, thereby making extended use of the Institute building. The garden can be reached through the Institute or via gated entry points around the front and rear of the main Institute building. There are hedges on three sides, a small wooden pergola and a sizeable patio area just outside the main building (measuring 8 x 6m). THE ORATORY ROOM
This is situated in the 2009 extension at the rear of the Institute building and can be hired with the Hall or independently. The Oratory measures 5.8 x 4.8m. The room has a large feature window overlooking the rear garden area. There are 16
upholstered chairs available for use in this room, wjhich is suitable for committee meetings, or as an ante-room for the main Hall. TOILETS
The toilets are in the 2009 extension and are of an excellent modern standard.
