I've just got some new backdrops, and some new light modifiers, and a smoke gun and I'm itching to try them all out.

In return for modelling, you get a set of edited photographs, and I get some fresh images for my portfolio!

However the photos went to the Green Man Association of the New Forest very quickly; it's just the rest of you that have had to wait. Still waiting adds to the ultimate pleasure though :-)

The beautiful Red-spotted Bluethroat that has been entertaining Dorset and Hampshire birdwatchers for a few days. I rarely "twitch" rare or vagrant birds but this one was so beautiful and so close I couldn't resist. With it's striking blue, white, and orange throat, perched on a flowering branch, it makes an interesting contrast with the winter plumage White-spotted Bluethroat I saw in Extremadura last winter. I only stayed a few moments, as there were many people there wanting to see it.

So my latest adventure is drawing to a close, my last day in Helsinki, I fly at 19:30 this evening. The photography tour with NaturesLens was good but could have been better. After that finished I have spent some time exploring Helsinki which is a delightful human-sized city with brilliant public transport.
