No ‘hooks’ here, just a bloody lovely bucket of David Austin roses to bring a little joy to your feed.

I’ve been dressing private houses for years and it’s always a total privilege to bring a brief to life, especially when the client gives you carte blanche to pick from their garden.

These will be combined with hydrangeas, nepeta, Japanese anemones and the most delicious scented phlox, all in little unobtrusive vases that will be scattered thoughtfully around their home.

If you’ve got a house and want to talk about having regular (or one-off) florals, you can find all the information you need in my bio.

Back with the flowers tomorrow.

Back to my favourite time of year - the moment between summer and autumn. Soft, faded tones still lingering and those unexpected pops of jewel colours appearing.

This is from last year, one urn filled with some of my favourite flowers of the season -
hydrangeas, gladioli and THOSE crocosmia!

The first time in a while I’ve looked forward to picking up my snips again.

I don’t think I ever really saw this bouquet.

I loved creating it. But by the time I’d finished it, my mind had already moved on to the next thing on my to-do list.

One of the unexpected gifts of slowing down this year has been looking back through work I never really had time to appreciate.

I loved this bouquet then, and I still do. Café Latte roses, beautiful texture and the most incredible scent. It’s one of those timeless bridal bouquets that I’d happily create all over again.

My year away from weddings continues, but I’m loving watching so many of my flower friends creating beautiful work this season. I just hope you’re all finding a moment or two to put the snips down, step back and think, “Coooor… that’s a belter.”

I’m curious…

Are you a florist who’s taking on orders, creating constantly, keeping everything moving
but something still doesn’t feel quite right.

It’s rarely about your floristry skill, it’s just that you’re figuring everything out on your own.

When you’re in your business every day, it’s hard to step back and see things clearly.

If this sounds familiar, drop me a DM, I’d love to hear from you.
