Back to the archives - treasure hunting and playful team building.

Digging through some old files this week, we found these fun alphabet letters from 2013, brought to life by the brilliant artist

Our brief was to create an overnight staff experience for a leading gaming company that didn’t feel like a typical corporate away day, and that combined serious business with festival fun.

So, we took over the stunning Stowe School one sunny week in mid-Summer.  Boardroom sessions gave way to a festival styled party, with late night secret bars, brass bands and fireside songs, overnight glamping and treasure hunting the next day.

Breakfast sandwiches & strong coffee was delivered in plentiful supply the morning after - then straight into a deliberately unexpected treasure hunt across the backdrop of Stowe School – with its formal rooms, hidden follies and grand temples. 

Teams were sent off to take part in activities including three-legged races at the athletics track, teddy bear tennis on the courts, riddle solving and surreal encounters with characters such as Socrates at the Temple of Ancient Virtue - the teams gathered clues and letters before a grand finale.   

A reminder that the best shared experiences sit somewhere between thoughtful and slightly ridiculous.

With this beautiful spring weather finally making an appearance, we’ve been reminiscing in the office about a very special celebration in North Yorkshire a couple of years ago.

We had the pleasure of working with a wonderful client to create a truly elegant birthday party, set against the most breathtaking moorland backdrop.

From early spring site visits through to June, we were lucky enough to see the landscape at its absolute best—rolling hills, wild flowers, and lush greens.

Such happy memories… and a fantastic party to boot.

The year has begun! We had our first site visit of 2025 at the Ragley Hall Estate this week to look at traffic planning and site design for one of our longstanding clients. Here's our friend and colleague, Tom, demonstrating the turning circle required for coach arrivals. We're really looking forward to working at this stunning venue. Roll on Spring and the good times 🍃🎪 ☀️

Gosh it’s mid-January already. The Festival in a Box team are already busy working away on a number of exciting parties and projects for 2024. We have a bunch of site visits lined up and will be layering up to get outside into the crisp cold. Whilst we do, we thought we’d remind ourselves of the sunnier hazy days of Summer, and a flash back to some warmer memories. It won’t be cold forever!
