Wow! What a spectacular night! Please read on - important information below!
Firstly, a massive thank you to Coldplace and Bailey Moore, who were absolutely amazing, and to our brilliant audience - you were all superb! We love you!
We appreciate each and every one of you and thank you so much for your support. We loved every second of it last night, and it genuinely means so much to see so many people having such a fantastic time.
This is exactly why we do what we do.
Going forward, however, we feel it's important to be honest with our audience. While some events have been very successful, others have struggled to attract sufficient advance support, with some reaching only single-figure ticket sales.
Following the cancellation of Let's Rock the 70s, we have taken the difficult decision not to proceed with the planned Beatles and Oasis tribute shows either due to very low sales. Ticket holders will be contacted shortly and offered a refund or the opportunity to transfer to another event.
With this in mind, we will continue to focus on our film programme while concentrating on a smaller number of events that we promote ourselves, and spending more time supporting outside promoters, artists, community groups and local organisers who want to bring their own events to The Royalty.
Some brilliant examples of this recently have been Lakes Live, which was created and driven by people with a real passion for the local music scene; the hugely popular Planet Mirth comedy nights, which have brought award-winning comedians and familiar faces from television to The Royalty; the Royalty Soul Northern Soul & Motown events, which have regularly packed out the venue; and the wonderful, annual Lakes Players pantomime.
We'd love to see more events like these and would actively encourage anyone with an idea for a gig, film screening, theatre show, community fundraiser or any other kind of event to get in touch.
The Royalty is also available for private hire. Whether you're planning a celebration, gathering or something completely out of the ordinary, if you can imagine it, we'd love to hear about it.
This is also a good opportunity to reiterate our plea for people to buy tickets in advance if you are able to do so. We completely understand that budgets are tight and plans can change, but advance ticket sales are often what give venues, promoters and performers the confidence to proceed with an event.
Those early sales genuinely make the difference between an event happening and an event being cancelled.
The Royalty has been entertaining people in Bowness for generations, and we are determined to keep it going. We are confident that we can do this with the continued support of our audience, performers, promoters and community.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. If you have an event idea, a project you'd like to bring to life, or simply want to help keep The Royalty thriving, we'd love to hear from you.
Please do share this post, have a lovely Sunday, and don't forget to take a look at our website and book yourself a night out while you're there 😉
With love and appreciation,
Team Royalty.
