It’s been a while since we posted on here… but we feel now is the right time to officially close this chapter with House of Hi-Fi.
Running a business and community alongside working full time in such demanding industries has been a challenge, especially when our team is small, grassroots, self-funded and on such different schedules in different cities.
For the best part of a year, we have struggled with dedicating the time, new ideas and the commitment to putting on independent events, especially when they are so high risk for self funded brands.
When we first started House of Hi-Fi in 2018, we had no idea it would still be running almost seven years later, nor how much hard work and dedication it would take. For this we are forever grateful to have had even a small impact on equality in the Drum & Bass and Jungle scene.
As a group of girls who met at university with a passion for underground music, raving and a fire inside us to step up to make a change, we are thankful to have met so many incredible people along the way. It’s amazing to see so many minority groups rising up in the DnB scene over the years, long may it continue!
Love to the original team, Ama, Kira, Kyro, Sheba Q & La Lune - we are so proud of you all for how you have grown in your careers and yourselves. We have made some of the closest friendships, challenged ourselves, had amazing memories and kicked some ass over the years!
Thank you to the community, the people who got involved, supported us, leant their time and skills, came to our events, listened to our radio shows, read our interviews and booked our artists.
We will always continue to work in, support and love this scene 🖤
