What a busy but very special weekend. 💛💚❤️
I had the pleasure of baking once again for our wonderful Boston Lithuanian community.
For the community trip to Rutland Water, organised to celebrate Ukrainian Independence Day, I prepared homemade pasties and cupcakes in the beautiful blue and yellow colours of Ukraine. 🇺🇦💙💛
Then it was straight into another very special occasion — the start of a new school year at Boston Lithuanian School “Rūta”. 📚✏️ This time there were plenty more pasties and, of course, a Back to School cake to celebrate the children returning to their Lithuanian school.
Moments like these make me especially proud to be Lithuanian and proud to be part of our community here in Boston. 🇱🇹 Living away from our home country, I think it is so important that we keep our language, traditions and culture alive and pass them on to our children. Seeing our children learning Lithuanian, celebrating together and growing up surrounded by our community is something very special.
To all the children starting a new school year — I wish you lots of success, new friendships, confidence, curiosity and many happy school days. ❤️ And to the teachers, parents and everyone who gives their time and heart to keep our Lithuanian school and community going — thank you.
I’m very grateful that my baking allows me to be a small part of so many of these special occasions. Sometimes food is much more than food — it brings people together. 🥰
Happy new school year, everyone! 🎒📚✨
Su naujais mokslo metais! 💛💚❤️
