✨️ Private marriage - 26/06/2026 ✨️

This gorgeous couple's ceremony was conducted in the beautifully serene surroundings of Dollar Park Walled Garden.

Set in the heart of Dollar Park in Falkirk, the garden is looked after by Cyrenians and volunteers, and is available to hire for a limited number of intimate weddings and other small events. I encourage you to pay a visit to this hidden gem.

Using footage from the garden itself, here I am reciting a poem called 'In and Out of Time', written by the wonderful human that was, Maya Angelou. My couple chose to include this in their ceremony. 🥰

✨️ Archie & Gemma - 12/06/2026 ✨️

Introducing Mr & Mrs Watson! 🥰

These two met online 5 years ago. You’d think it was Archie’s big muscles that first attracted Gemma to him, but it wasn’t! In fact, she told him she almost swiped left on him because he was too muscular – which he took as a compliment of course! It was in fact Archie’s dark hair, kind face and his smile that swayed her. Gemma was completely Archie’s type – petite and blonde. He just thought WOW!

Every single moment they’ve spent together since meeting has been nothing but fun. Life is never boring. And pranks and jokes are the norm. They always find ways to laugh. And when it comes to the all-important values for a lasting relationship – like trust, mutual respect and family - they are very much aligned.

In 2023, they were holidaying in Santorini. Archie loves a photo so when he hired a photographer to follow them around during sunset, Gemma didn’t think anything of it, other than, “OMG Archie, anything for Instagram!” She was more annoyed about being made to pose for photos…that is, until she turned around and saw Archie down on one knee.

That same year, they found out they were expecting, and welcomed their beautiful son into their world. He has bonded them forever. It’s the simple moments with the three of them together that they feel happiest.

Their ceremony was very much a family affair. Their cutie son was page boy, Gemma's three brothers each took turns escorting her down the aisle, her sister and cousin each recited a poem - 'Marry Your Best Friend' by N'Tima and 'Here's To Right Now' by Ms Moem - and their mums were witnesses.

I always say to my couples that there's no compulsion to include any symbolic gestures in their ceremony and Archie and Gemma chose to stick with exchanging rings - the most intimate of gestures.

✨️ Calum & Alanna - 06/06/2026 ✨️

Introducing Mr & Mrs Ross! 🥰

A week after my last visit, I was back at Stirling Court Hotel.

These two met through a mutual friend back in 2017. Calum locked eyes with Alanna after her laughter brought her to his attention. They both seemed to instantly know they’d found the one.

Their first kiss was during a walk with friends up Cambusbarron quarry. Safe to say, sparks flew between them both and the rest, as they say, is history!

Their sons are now their biggest shared interest in life and they love their family holidays. They also enjoy listening to music, especially country, and singing along to it with the boys.

And the boys played a central role in Calum and Alanna's ceremony, with them both helping their mum and dad tie the knot using their colourful handfasting ribbons.

This poem, written by an unknown author, captured their love from a Scots’ perspective.

“Yer the neeps tae ma tatties,
Yer ma heart, yer ma hame,
Life without you ma darlin
Just isnae the same.

“Yer the fizz tae ma Bru,
There’s nae yin like you,
Yer the salt tae ma chips,
Keep puttin smiles oan ma lips.

“Yer the swally tae ma thirst,
Fae the best tae the worst,
Even when we’re pure scunnered an burst,
Ye still always come first.

“Through thick an through thin,
Even when life’s no playin fair,
I’d still choose you,
Nae questions, I’m there.”

Calum and Alanna shared some whisky from the quaich - their first drink as a married couple. Both the whisky – an Octomore from Islay (59.1% ABV! 🤯) - and the quaich were gifted to them by Calum’s auntie and uncle.

Fabulous, as always, working with Forza Photography.

My gorgeous 30th May bride, Jen, and I share a love of all things leopard print. To receive this stunning, personalised Katie Loxton gift from her and new hubbie, John, was such an overwhelming surprise. Nailed it! 🤗

✨️ Jen & John - 30/05/2026 ✨️

Introducing Mr & Mrs Grieve! 🥰

A welcome return to Stirling Court Hotel - with its brilliant view of Wallace Monument 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - to marry this fabulous couple.

They found each other through 'click and collect' almost 4 years ago. John was attracted by Jen’s “stunning blue eyes” while Jen simply thought “he's hot and doesn't look like a weirdo!”.

They now share a home with their blended human family and blended doggo family - John's border collie and Jen's cockapoo.

John proposed to Jen on Christmas Day 2023. He gifted her a fake scratch card and when she scratched off the silver coating it revealed the immortal words, 'Will you marry me?” It may sound cheesy, but Jen certainly felt like she’d hit the jackpot that day!

They set their vows into a beautiful, personalised oathing stone.

They both share a passion for dance music and this was the track they chose to close their ceremony with. Bangin!

It's always guaranteed to be a fun day when Lloyd Stevenson Photography is around.
